Who makes pickup cab sleeper extensions?

Postby WarPony » Sat Oct 13, 2007 5:09 pm

With the addition of my new dog, I am wanting to find one of those little extensions that slap on the back of the cab of my '93 F-150. It sits on the bed rails but doesn't drop below the bed rail so the whole 8' bed can still be used. I've seen them on trucks before and never knew what they were called but assumed they were used as a sleeper or storage area because it's just big enough for one person to lay in.

Am I making any sense or does anyone have/used one? :worship: .......

Warpony, did you take a look at Cabela's or Bass Pro Shop? Their truck catalog section has a lot of things to trick out a truck bed.

2old, that is close. The ones I've seen look like a 2 foot long camper shell that butts up against the cab. The rear window is taken out so the "sleeper" can be accessed.

Jeff...are you looking for the ones that had a donut that allowed the cap to fit against the cab? I haven't seen them around in a long time, the donuts wore out the paint on the cabs, since they moved independently of each other. But, you could build one, ya know.... Doug

Jeff, I know what you are talking about, it's a 1/4 shell that connects to the rear window. It as a bottom that is the height of the bed rails. Like Doug, I haven't seen those in a long time. Probably doubful if you can sleep in them unless you are pretty short.

The last one I saw was filled with stereo equipment.

I was going to mention that Jeff, but thought better. I'd think if you have the seat slid up so you can drive, that there ought to be plenty of room behind it for the dog.....sorry, I'm just razzing you Jeff. Doug

There's one here:

Item number:
tem number: 190161825917

http://cgi.ebay.com/Camper-shell_W0QQit ... 61825917QQ

May not fit your truck as it sits, but for $25 ... maybe it's worth a look?
