Cracks in the paint

Postby CASHCOW » Sun Oct 14, 2007 10:00 pm

Trips to Lowes and Home Depot for stain for the interior cabinets.... only to find out that the color we need is a SPECIAL ORDER ITEM :x :x

So off we went to the paint department much to Mikes horror!! :fb

After 4 hours of painting and painting and painting ( and another trip to the Lowes to get a DIFFERENT COLOR of base coat after the "less than helpful" guy in the paint department mixed the wrong color and convienced me that it would be much darker after it dried.... :MLAS :laughter: was I an idiot or what.......

Anyway, this is what it looked like when we woke up the next morning :duh: :embarassed:

BUT dont worry.... It is suppose to have all those cracks.... we decided to crackle the cabinets to give them that Aged look......lol....

Wanted to share it with you. This is what the final picture looks like......

Looks awsome, I really like the look. That is coming back in some new homes these days.

That's a great effect!
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Postby CASHCOW » Sun Oct 14, 2007 10:23 pm

Thanks guys.... it really was much easier than I thought it was gonna be.... of course when I was painting the base coat on for the second time I dont think I was quite that positive about the process.....

We are so proud of how they turned out. Next, Mike is gonna start skinning the hatch....... He says he has put it off as long as he can :hammerhead: :running man: :moom walk:

I keep telling him that he has to start it one way or the other, so just suck it up.... :beerhat: NO NO NO>>>>>not the beer.... the fridge isway to close to the TD in the garage.....

Guys,
That is totally awesome!!!!!!! I was thinking about the crackle look as one of the options for my galley cabinets. That turned out great. You have got to be proud of the way that turned out.

  :applause:
