I applaud your effort. If I had to go through all that work to register my toy, I don't know if I would do it. Your accomplishment is definitely something to be proud of.

Oh, I was going to ask...

You said you have rush hour there?!?! Reindeer backup??

Thanks Jeepr I mean Yooper..   Yes it was very tiresome but we are going to enjoy all the work that was involved..

and Ohhh Yes we do have some traffic here in the far nort ..the reindeer have all the roads and byways to themselves way up in Lapland as life moves at a slow pace there.. These animals of the nort dont move for cars.. cars move for them.. they will just lay in the middle of the road and look at the driver of the car as to say... enjoy your stay ..  Welcome to my territory white man..of the south.

But also being the only one has its disadvantages too as I have nothing to compare it to on sight or in person..  but ok its in the yard and Im continuing on building...

Heikki,
One thing about yours being the first, you may not have anything to compare yours to but the odds are that others Finns haven't seen another Teardrop in person either. So you can say with proud certainty this is what a Finnish Teardrop looks like. You have had to jump through a lot of hoops but it has to be extra special to have created the very first of something. :applause:

Heikki,

Congatulations sir and my one word of advise for your country PATENT. People wanty to make another in Fuinland it is going to cost them

After you build your next three you could always rent them to them by telling them it is chaper than going to court

I couldnt allow someone to go thru what I did.. Thumbs Up
Best regards Heikki

I see a way to pay for your tear.... write a manual with all the info to get it EU registered along with a set of Teardrop plans......sell it to all interested Finnish persons.

Or hire 15 or so people, rent a warehouse and start building a lot of tears....

By the way... I couldn't really see... what's the difference between your original towbar and the EU approved towbar????

Glad to see you finally got thru all the mish mash and got her registered!!

Welcome to Pennsylvania! Now you see why we usually try and find an old donor trailer for registration, we've got a similar problem here.

Heikki, good for you, finally succeeding in wading through all of the red tape. That sure is a fine looking teardrop you have built. If none of the Finnskas have never seen a teardrop, you must be constantly answering questions and doing the show-and-tell thing, while gassing up or simply stopping at the grocery store.

Lets see, we will have to come up with an original name for the new Voyager Teardrop Construction Werks. How about.......

The Far North, EU Approved, High Quality, Original Design, Universal/International Sauna-less Teardrop Trailer Constuctors Incorperated? Ok, now that we have a name, when do you start building number Two? On second thought, maybe it is better that you remain the
one that has the only teardrop in the whole Country.

Roly.......Ha det so bra, och ha du mikit rolit oksa.

Hi there Flying Finn Thank You Kindly.. ;)

You betcha ... We,ll build you one and I know just where to get the frame built accordingly with all documents so no inspector can say its not made according to EU Law or Finnish Law which is Horse Doo Doo in my opinion.

Flying Finn the 1st you need is the Approved Towbar.. then the frame built not the other way around since the towbar is the main thing the Inspectors look at here and need to be EU Approved .. Silly as it sounds but its direct advice.

So get in contact when ready..

Hej Roly min Svenska vännär.. tack för det bra ord ... I think I will have a line of folks asking questions or just come staring out of interest as I did when coming home with the tear..

In a way it was funny... thought I was going to cause a chain reaction accident on the highway... not by me but the tear ..

Whoaaaaaa thats a long Name you have there Roly... I wont build the number 2 as of yet.. Im going to take a small break from it a few days then I can plan ...   Notice what I said 2 days..

Im going out to get my own builders Id for the tears I,ll make after this.. it will identify legally that its my tears...it cant be copied after that..

I will make another like mine but with more meat near the front as it should of been..improving I guess..

and fixing mistakes as I did on this one.. but ok The Voyager is special since it will have thoughts, ideas, advice and info from many of you here on the Forum..

I will put a 4 sale Sign On It Stating - For Sale Tomorrow... :rofl2: Just to tease..
as in a Sign - Free Beer Tomorrow..

If I build more like this one they will be The Voyager Models.. 8) Just an Idea..

Roly Thank You

Look at the bright side, Heikki - If you had to sell your teardrop tomorrow, you could probably sell it for 4 times as much now as you could have last week, before it was certified as legal in Finland

Yes, it was a lot of work, time and expense to jump through all the hoops, but in one way, it has really paid for itself . . . . at least it will if you ever sell it
