I collect pressure lamps and have two old Coleman's I use camping all the time. Unfortunately for me, We are in a "drought" situation in southern Cali and for some odd reason theyare not allowed in the mountain campgrounds. Last year I was actually told to turn one off by a ranger... I asked for him to explain how it was more dangerous than a propane bottles and the answer I got was no liquid fuels, period! I then explained that propane is a liquid fuel too... No Go.

I dad has another brass one I covet that his dad bought in the early thirties. One of these days I will talk him out of it...

Was in Wally world getting the last of the goodies for the tear for our trip. A fellow in the checkout and I got to talking and I explained what I had built. He asked me if I needed any camping gear as he bought ,sold, and traded all kinds of camping goodies and was heavy into older coleman lanterns an such. I told him of this forum and asked if he would like me to let folks know he was buying and selling. He said absolutly so here goes.

Anyone have a line on small propane tanks. I have been looking for a 7 to 10 # size .The 20# grill tanks are everywhere but I don't want the weight. All I will be fueling is a 2 burner propane cook top and the small one would be plenty.

Your choices are 4.25# and 11# models. You can order them online here. Frankly, IMHO a 4.25# tank is not worth the expense - two 2# disposables do the same job for less hassle.

I have a new Coleman lantern at my house and my father (saves everything) has two lantern from the late sixties/early seventies which I plan to get from him. I am going to try and dig them out the next time I am at his house.

Do you still use the liquid fuels? Most people are staying away from liquids but I still like the liquid types.

Have a 10 or 11 # bottle in picture on the right that I will sell you cheap. I think I only filled it once.

Yes.........camping wouldn't be the same without my coleman 2 burner stove and red single mantle lantern. I also have 2 green lanterns. Why three lanterns? :NC
