Packers great, Max McGee, who caught the first TD pass in Super Bowl history, died from a fall off the roof of his home... :(

Oh No!!! :(

When did this happen? I remember sitting with my dad and watching the first Superbowl. Coach Lombardi used to field unbelieveable teams. And the players didn't make the Mega-millions these guys do now. They were just guys that enjoyed the game and played their hearts out because of it.

He will be missed, by us old geezers. :(

your title of this post made my stomach flop. i was out of the loop this weekend, as it is the packer's bye week, so i was working at the cabin. no radio, or tv... just outside all day.

i really did misss a big thing. i'm sad now. max used to announce the game with jim irwin... they were good.

one time lombardi fined max (i'll haveta double check that cuz, it mighta been jim erwin) for going out with hornung... some crazy amount for the time... something like $1500, and then lombardi said: "and you do it again and i'll fine you double... and if what your going to do is worth that much, let me know, and i'll go with ya!"

i love the packers!

I think that was what his wife said too.
