At 4:30 a.m. I woke to smoke coming from a brush fire 1/4 mile from my house, burned out quickly, ran out of fuel then couldn't get to church because of the Malibu fire and now I can barely breath because of a fire in Moorpark. its snowing ash. Have a nice day.

Wow Matt,

That's a little too close for comfort.

Keep you eyes open and your head down. Hope fire season isn't very bad this year. But not starting out too good.

Man, there are fires all over the place. Because of the winds we're having the fires are all out of control. And Ma3tt, your getting smoked out by the fires up here.

Fires won't get near me, we are 1/4 mile from the hills, I have friends went to that church that burned in Malibu, it was a great church with a really fun preschool. rebuilding will be a solidifying experience for the congregation.

our local paper lets people post pictures so here are some

That fire in Malibu took off quick, I drove back from L.A. yesterday and the wind was terrible there was a semi over turned on the I-10 and I-15 and had bad dust storms and cars where slamming on there brakes almost causing a pileups. :frightened:

Matt, et al,

Maybe you should check in and let everyone know how it's going out there.

Just looked at the news and it looks like California is on fire. Hope all of you are all o.k.. :worship:

In the midst of all the chaos here, I spotted a tear at the Mission Hills High School evacuation center in San Marcos. It was dark outside, but the tear appeared to be gray with green flames on the fenders.
No idea who it was, hopefully everything is working out well for you......

I think the whole San Diego area is probably the worst off. In the next few days looks like there should be more of an onshore air flow that should help. That air brings in moisture. The biggest problem is always the hot dry Santana winds. If the winds are blowing hard enough nothing can stop the fire except when it hits the ocean. Fortunately that has been a rare occurrence because the winds don't usually keep up long enough nonstop to do that.

On the map where it shows Santa Barbara, my county, that fire is contained & isn't in an area to burn homes. Though it was hazy here today due to smoke from fires.

We'll just have to pray :worship: the winds calm down in all the fire zones.
Martha ;)

From the hill above my work I could see the Magic fire, a fire above Filmore and the sky was ashen from the fire near running springs. even though we are not threatened we know people who were affected. Our church is helping the one in Malibu with space for their group meetings etc. The wind has died down so the aircraft will be more accurate there will be a cooling trend through the week. The worst is over on this round, Southern California has fires through December one of the largest came on Christmas day so it aint over yet.

 Glad to hear that, so far, everyone is still safe.

Still take a minute and let us know how it is going, when you get a chance.

Maybe everyone in the fire zone should check-in and let us know your status. Maybe start a thread for people in that area, so we can know you are all o.k. :worship:
