I have someone who has volunteered a Dahon folding bike, 650 mm. Does anybody there have a use for it?

Yes... yes I do. I have one of my soldiers in my office right now and he spoke right up.

My sleeping quarters are almost two miles from the building I work, he lives closer but bike sure do cut down on the walking time.

thank you and thank you friend for us!!!

I told them to just send the Dahon to you.

How long does it take to get stuff there? Just curious.

Some back issues of Bicycling are headed your way from one of the ladies on Team Estrogen.

I'm back...

Postby LesterS » Thu Oct 25, 2007 8:57 pm

Sheesh - wow.
The only thing that doesn't run on teardrop time around here is the forum.
I guess I owe everyone at least a short explanation.

My son turned 21 this past week.
We (like many 'guys'), like things that make noise, belch smoke and fire, and go fast. VERY Fast.
So... for his birthday we drove to Florida to see the ultimate camper depart. The Space Shuttle.
Several dollars and about 1000 miles later - I'm home again. (I don't compute on vacation -- that's the point of vacation! ) :)

So I must apologize for leaving everyone hanging.
I'll get the bike together for departure overseas. As far a the tube types - I have no earthly Idea -- I was told they fit the rims, so I saved them.

Very cool...I always wanted to see the Space Shuttle take off! How close can you actually get? Pictures??

And never apologize for taking a vacation!!!!

As far as the tubes...look at them do they look like you could fill them like you would fill your car tires?

Team Estrogen is a women's cycling forum much like this one. Guys are allowed however if they behave (no big testosterone displays). You should go introduce yourself. We have a few guys who post regularly. They also sell women's cycling apparel. The site not the guys.

BTW, I got a nifty package in the mail yesterday. Wish it was for me.

I thought I had posted a pic of myself in my intro. But here is me riding in the HOW100 in Sept. This pic makes me look like I'm fast. I'm not. I was climbing.

There is also a Team Estrogen that races the Baja 500/1000. Their husbands raced and they watched for a couple of years then decided they didn't want to watch anymore!

What kind of bike are you riding? I run a Trek 5500 for my road bike and will be picking up a Moots road frame soon to build over the winter.

Blush. I didn't post the closeups that show the wrinkles. :R

The 1/2 a person you see is Meg. We ride quite a bit & I'm 29 years older than her. But she is faster and much stronger. Thus I plan on wintering over in the gym.

That bike is my Giant OCR C3 (Black Beauty). Although it does have a relaxed geometry, it's carbon. It's really a little big for me. I end up too stretched out to be comfy on longer rides. I also have an ancient Bianchi Nyala which is a rigid, very heavy mtb. I have a rack and grocery panniers on Ole Blue. Use him for groceries and errands.

The company & forum, TE, is based out of Washington state. Probably just a coincidence on the name. But cute none the less.

I found this picture and it exemplifies why I won’t buy one of those $150 Walmart Mountain bikes…. Yep, that would be why…
