And here I go.....

What a beautiful park. The trees, the spanish moss, the lake, the cypress trees -- just gorgeous.

And what a party. Dinner was awesome both nights. Special thanks to MadJack's "crew." And, of course, no crew can function with out a great leader to sit in a lawn chair chair and watch-em, and MJ did that like a real pro -- better than any government supervisor.

Good campfires, good weather -- I hope we didn't used up all are good karma for the year on this one weekend. IMHO, it could not have been any better.

It was a great weekend. MadJack and Crew did a fantastic job on all the food, and so did everyone else that participated by bringing food. I really made a pig of myself.

It was good to put some faces with the screen names on here, meet some new friends, and visit again with some old friends.

We got home about 4:30 this afternoon and I'm happy to report we did not kill anything else on the way home! :D

Great weekend! MadJack, you throw one heck of a party! :P Glad we could be part of it.

Thanks to MadJack’s crew for some unbelievable gumbo!

Trudy and Gary, as always, no better way to start off the day than with breakfast at your place! :applause:

Mary K and CD, WOW! One heck of a drawing you run. :applause: :applause: Kerry’s already got the blender charging! :wine:

And anyone that can make an incredible batch of margaritas from an igloo cooler jug, and a garbage disposal is ok by me! Thanks Tony! :cheerswine:

Congrats again to Mary K for winning Camper Choice for best tear, and who’ll ever forget that we all got to see the Great Pumpkin, nice job Linda and Eddie. Jerome (dguff), all the way from Eureka! Glad you guys made it.

Thanks to Spinnernut and sdtripper2 for that special serenade of the “AH-OO-GA” horn! Maybe next time you guys can perform a duet, the horn and the squeezebox!

Was great to spend the weekend with so many fun people, looking forward to the next gathering.

This was my first gathering and I have to say that if they're all as much fun as this count me for the next one.

It was great to actually meet many of the people I've come to know through the forum.

I was blown away by the food. Memories of Gumbo are still dancing in my head.

Thanks Jack for being such a great host.

And thanks to everyone for treating me like a long lost relative. A nicer bunch of folks would be hard to find.

I took off yesterday to beat the mountain biking trail record of 47 minutes. I failed. I came up 9 minutes late. I also got off the trail 3 times, and I ran into a tree.

Image
My shoulder. :( You should see that tree if you think that's bad! ;)

The bad thing about these events are all the good ideas. Now I'm going to be spending more money on my camper. I'm now looking for some polished corrugated aluminum sheets. I want the mirrored look on the upper half of my camper.

Great meet. Lots of nice trailers, fantastic weather, nice bike trails, and great people.

We got home but WITH incident. Had a funny vibration in the truck that started about halfway between Wichita and Topeka, KS. I was trying to diagnose it while driving when all of a sudden BOOOOM!!!!!!

Blown back tire.......... at least the carcass didn't hit the camper and damage it. Took us an extra hour to make it home but we made it.

We had a great time and it was good to put some faces to avatars. I wish we could've said goodbye to some more peeps before we left this morning but we had to get motivatin' down the road.

Thanks to TonyJ for the nametags and the Marguritas, Hodder for the placards, VictorStar for the cool award trophies and all the people that made food to feed the masses. MadJack, thanks for another bangup time and thanks for the T-shirts. I know I'm missing somebody for something but you know who you are............

What a great gathering. This was twice a big as last year. It was great to see Old friends and finally meet some faces to put with the board names of others. The map didn't show everybody as there were some folks that showed up unannounced.
It was great to see everybody.
The food was fantastic and there was a ton left over after the potluck. The coons thought they were invited also and it was fun running them off and hiding everything.
The highlight of my weekend was in the food line, behind me was one of the mystery campers. It was two young couples that were tent camping. They did not have a clue that this was going on. They said they found it odd that it was difficult to get a spot for this weekend. Then they got camp setup and were enjoying the park. They said that a funny little camper drove by and they were intrigued. Then they said another went by,Then another and another and another. when we got to the front of the line MaryK was handing out tickets for the raffle. They told her that they were not part of the gathering but that it was insisted they come and eat. Of course Mary wouldn't hear of that and gave them tickets. At the raffle they won something. They came running up to me and said that this thing just kept getting better and better. They were awestruck. They couldn't wait to get home and get on the site.
Thanks to everybody that pitched in to make this a great success, and thanks to all of South Central. Next year might rival Minden in attendance.
Sherri had so much fun that she insisted we go to Inks Lake.
