Sherri had so much fun that she insisted we go to Inks Lake.

Hey, anyone notice on the map that there is a Minden, LA near Bistineau...What's up with that? Is there a parallel universe wherein Teardrops and tiny Minden towns collide? It sounds like one for the X-files....

I had a spectacular time. I met a book author on my way out. It just so happened that her best friend is a features writer for a newspaper in Shreveport. I gave the forum name. Next year, we'll more than likely have press coverage.

Heyand Thanks to all for a great campout. I look forward to it again next year. Oh and madjack I hope you had a great birthday! Also it was fun comming without reservations and being flexable we moved the old windsong around to 3 different campsites in one weekend. Thanks to the park folks for letting us mobile squatters to enter the park. And want to say thanks to trail of tears for letting us use their site in their absence (that was our final parking space for the weekend). I hope all is well with your family.

Thanks! Again!

We made it home around 9:30pm. Some idiot trying to pass everybody on the shoulder through up a rock and put a small crack in my windshield . :x Other than that we made it home in one piece.

Boy did we have a great time. Met a lot of nice people. Sorry if we didn't get a chance to say Hi to everyone, so many people to talk to.

Jack's wife, Marline, has a bug zapper that has potential for torturing bugs. I'm gonna get me one.

What can I say about the food  :applause:

This is the first time we've eaten Gumbo and Boudin. That was some good food and thanks to Joe for all the cooking he did.

Talk about coincidences. A while back I posted a pic of a TD with a privacy shelter made from conduit pipe and asked if anyone knew who it was. The only thing anyone could come up with was the man's name is Peters. Guess who was camped next to us. Mr. Leslie Peters and his wife Dorothy. He makes and plays a Dulcimer and a Psaltery. He gave us a demonstration on both instruments. It was a pleasure listening to him play.

I have pics to post as soon as I can find the camera in the camper. I know it's in there somewhere.

Well, we are headed home. Left this morning (Monday) after leftovers last night and a final couple of hours around the fire with MJ and crew. We stopped at Bossier City for an expensive little stop at Bass Pro Shop at the Louisiana Boardwalk.  Then we went to the Louisiana State Fair which turned out to be closed on Monday!!  Tonight we are in a motel in Sherman TX which has WiFi and are catching up on email and the forum. Thanks to all, MJ, the crew, Mary K, Casey Dog, Gary & Trudy, Tony, Snoop Doug, Victor Star for the wonderful glass trophy, all the food contributors, all the great people we met. I am probably leaving someone out but the music is playing and they want me off the stage (oscars). We will post some progress reports on the trip home as we get access to the forum.

Thanks everyone for the great weekend. The cooks, the park employees, all the people that volunteered their time and donated food and door prizes . . . so many people did so much to make LCGII a wonderful success. :applause: LCG is destined to be the TD gathering of the south.

This one will be very hard to beat!

Thanks to all that participated to make this gathering a true success. It was really nice to meet with what we consider to be new and old friends.
Besides the friends, the great food, the beautiful location and the man
(madjack) and his friends that put this together two other things were really meaningful to me. One - my son , daughter-in-law and their two children came and set up on Saturday in a tent like we did last year. My son known as Mr Chip on the forum blended right in, met people, looked at tears and is now really interested in building his own tear. My grand daughter singing and my wife playing the accordion around the campfire. Two - having my own tear that I built made me really feel like part of the teardroppers. My wish would be that we could have met more people and see more tears, but never enough time right. Hope to see you next year! :worship: [/i]

Don't think I can add much to what folks have already said 'cept, YESSS. Had a wonderful time, as expected with such a great group. Was great getting to meet & sit around the campfire with SDTripper & MaryK (& our usual group of course). Appreciate all the hard work that Madjack's crew, Joe, Jim, & Gary did to help make the gathering such a huge success, especially all the great food; & Tony's 'magic margarita machine' has quickly become a tradition. After most had pulled out Sunday, Lenora & I decided we'd just be lazy for another day so went to the park office & 'forked over' another night's fee. Had a great evening with MJ & Marlene & Crew, Tony, SDTripper, MaryK & her Dad, Jerome & Dolores (dguff), sittin' 'round the campfire. We turned in early for a change, 9:30 or so, & after saying our goodbyes to the good folks still there we hit the road for home around 9:40 Monday morning. It's normally a 4hr trip for us but we kinda meandered along the little 2-lane 'pig trail' hiways of north Louisiana & south Arkansas & finally arrived home 'bout 3PM or so yesterday afternoon. Been readin' the posts & viewing all the pix from the 'party' since. I took quite a number of pix but haven't uploaded to a host yet. They're mostly bout the same as have already been posted but I'll try to get a few up within next day or so. Of course we're already eagerly anticipating next year's LCG, & any other TD gatherings we can manage to attend 'tween now & then. 8)

I have really come to hate this event, and let me tell you why--It emphasizes how much the quality of the rest of my life SUCKS!!!

I didn't think we could top the fun and food from last year's event, but you guys did it. I had to get away from the place to recover from the extreme laughing of the weekend.

All the weight I have sweated off the last couple of months--are back. The gumbo, BBQ, chocolate cake and MaryK's mother's pumpkin creation were delicious. And Gary and Trudy--you are the best. What a breakfast spread!

And the booty! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Glenn (CaseyDog), MaryK and everyone else who contributed for the raffle. There wasn't a stinker prize in the bunch. I heard that one prize got hidden in a mad shuffle at the end, but it will be used at the next one.

I didn't get a chance to take many pictures this weekend, but I have some from the water that I know no one else has and I will try to post them tonight.

It was great to meet every one (why do you think I do the Nametags?), and spend time getting to know a few of you better. And what can we say about the Pineville and Pollock boys? Joe, Gary and Jim--this event wouldn't be the same without you. Where else can you go to see wonderful trailer craftsmanship, culinary creations, and also get to see a live spur-of-the-moment engine rebuild? I haven't heard of that demonstration at any other event.

Madjack--what can we say? Thanks for having a birthday party and inviting us.

Next year is much too far away. I want to go back now.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Gary and I made it home ... but Gary picked up a bug somewhere along the way and isnt feeling too good. Came home and went straight to bed. :(

As always, it was wonderful seeing everyone. Thanks for the nice words about the breakfast, but certainly couldnt have done it without all the extra hands, fruit, juices, coffee, other dutch oven dishes, waffles as well as Cindy's great casserole. I bet we could feed twice as many folks next year. Already planning on it!!
Where ever we raise the hatch is home.
Darn blank states keep getting further away and we keep traveling slower ain't never gona get this map full.
