Heikki, you really need to smile a really big smile. There is a lot of family resemblance with all of you. I bet your mom noticed right off.

Thanks for sharing this heart warming story with us. :)

What really made my heart fill with joy was my sons smile. Bigger than Ive ever seen ..

Its a strange situation: This is why..

I havent seen my mum in over 48 years.. My son has never seen his Grandma. My sister hasnt seen her mum in 15 years.. And in turn my sister has never seen anyone of us here in Finland..

And in turn Mum hasnt ever met my boys.. and saw me last when I was about 2 or under..

Strange Combination for us all.

I can't see any of the pictures. Does anyone have a suggestion for me on how to see them?

Thanks,
Grani

Well... How do I start... once again...

My long lost sister left today to travel a very long way for home..Back to Australia..

First I must say it sure is a lonely and empty feeling..  after all them long years of missing out seeing and being with each other and not knowing much about each other.

But who knows maybe we,ll meet once again... :worship:

What can I say we have Birthdays in the same month.. I guess in many ways we think the same and have the same humor at least according to my wife..

People here questioned why we have 2 different accents as we went to places after finding out were brother and sister...

She did capture the heart of our Lil Man almost 3. Neither understood one another but still it was there..

My oldest said that he is glad to know he has cousins living in Australia - a bit older than him age 17 or 18.

Our lil boy was after their Aunt all the time and she did spoil him right off the bat..

My wife really enjoyed her as well and thoughtfully said Im glad you finally met since youve talked about it for years.. as I also admit having done so..

But now she is gone once again... which is very sad in my opinion as weve been in tears for the past 2 hours now... and belive it or not but
so has the smallest of the family...aint that somthing..

I,ll post a few photos again for you. if you wonder of the previous photos I took them down after a few days but if you would like to look at them I will be happy to share them with you..

Best regards

This concludes the true story of my life and finding family lost for so many years. We cant go back in time but at least once we met.

Thank You for letting us share this with you all.

This is an example of how important family is after all.. and how a person goes on searching for loved ones regardless of distance and time. As it happened in my life..

The missing pieces of my lifes puzzle have been fitted together and now I can say I can rest with ease in mind and thought.

Best wishes from us all

Heikki,
Thanks for sharing your story with us. Even for the bittersweet part, in the end there was so much more positive than negative in the outcome which is a great blessing.
Even though Australia is a long way from Finland just like the U.S.A. is, today it is easier than ever to stay in touch. The connections made with your sister doesn't have to be lost with distance.
All the best to you from another faraway friend.
Martha ;)

It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffee maker.
