Heikki I am so sorry. Finland is in my prayers as they go through this. It breaks my heart that he learned how to do this from watching the news events of the USA. My heart goes out to the families that lost loves ones.

My God... What a terrible tragedy! My prayers to all your countrymen. What a shame this world is coming to such terror? I don't know how to stop such insane crimes either. But, stricter gun control doesn't seem to be effective. The nut cases seem to get them no matter what. It is too bad someone didn't notify the authorities about his sick web posting though? Possibly this could have been nipped in the bud. That may be a better approach to getting a grip on these crimes. It seems all the recent similar perps did post things to the internet that would indicate a real potential for trouble. I don't know if this is possible to police in advance as vast as the web is. But, similar things are working in the US for sex offenders. They are catching more and more of them.

My heart goes out to all those families this boy has hurt.

Yes Brick this is such a tragedy no matter where it takes place but this time it was here.. but he wont be doing anyone anymore harm, even though he sure did before he left this world. His parents are in total shock from it because he was a good student and never been in any trouble.

His classmates are speaking about it now on the news..

but whats done is done.. real sad..this school maybe closed now till end of next week due to police investigations and crisis help to the victims and families. As they say here many are thinking about changing schools due to the bad memories.

Heikki, when I heard what had happened, I thought first of you and your family. I am so relieved that you are all o.k. I, as an American, am so sorry that he got his ideas from here. I just feel so helpless to be able to stop all this terror. Right now, prayer is all we can do I guess. We have you and your country in our thoughts and prayers.

Heikki,
I'm so sorry to hear about what happened in Finland. :(
My prayers go out to you & your countrymen.
Unfortunately bad ideas & practices seem to spread more easily than good ones around the world. I don't think it helps when the media gives these things soooo much attention, seems like 24 hours a day for days around here, that for some I think it must somehow glorify it. And now in 30 seconds news can be all around the world.
I guess today authorities or someone needs to keep tabs of what goes on You Tube and other internet web sites to be one the lookout for such troubled people.
:(

You Tube was contacted by authorities but what was spoken we as normal folks dont have a clue but I guess we can only assume.

Finnish Flags flying at half mast throughout the Country today and most likely all week. Our son Samuel told mom that mom flag is not right..
Little Man is observant but how does he understand the reason for it.
He said to me in finnish that daddy go fix the flag.. tears came across my face when he told me this.. I wish it could be fixed I thought.

Life goes on though.

That young man had over 300 rounds on him at the school the police said.
Luckily enough he didnt have a chance to use all of them..

All throughout Finland flags again flying at half mast and folks waking up to reality of the events the day before..
