I have read that there are a couple of boat builders here

I am really considering building a boat. I am good with wood and have some experience with glassing. I fish from an old ratty 17’ aluminum Jon right now… but I would “love” a nice bass boat…

Has anyone done anything like this?

((don’t worry, I’m going to do my TearDrop first))

While I’m no boat builder SFC Hall, I to would love to build a boat after my tear is done.

Here is a picture of a fishing boat I like, have fished out of a few like it on Lake Nippissing, ON Canada.

If I only had the skill.

SFC Hall; looks like a cool design I have been looking around for a design of a "bayboat" to build at some point also to use in the Chesapeake bay.

buliding boats is what I started with.
Did two canoes and helped with a kayak, and a dory.

I'm going to copy DeeBee and do a folding boat this winter. Here's his site:

Not a Bass boat, but I've built a couple of mahogany runabouts. Glen-L makes an excellent set of plans and has framing kits available. Doug

If my trailer doesn't work out, I am turning it into one of these!

Or maybe I can slide it off the trailer onto the boat..... Hhhhmmmm

Have you looked at Bateau's designs? I don't work for them the only interest I have is I like their designs and their forum. Lots of help and usually quick answers.

For a flats type boat

http://www.bateau.com/proddetail.php?prod=PH18

They are not wood boats per-say but Epoxy Composite with a plywood core.

I want a stabile platform for fishing and smooth ride in chop. I have been reading a lot. and I think I have decided on this boat. I like to be different too. Yep, about 95% sure this is the one…
