Got to my sister's house and reunited with my dog.   I really missed that 'ol phart!

The camp info says Inks has WiFi service. I brought my notebook along, so if I can get hooked up, I'll post any info I can.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

To All,

I just called the park office and as of 8:05 am this morning there is NO Burn Ban. All fires just have to be kept inside the ring.

What's camping without a fire ???????

See you all Saturday AM

My truck arrived, but I gotta work. If I can get out early enough, I'll see you all tonight. If not, I'll get up early tomorrow and hopefully be there by noon.

Arrived home safely.
Being the "newbies" at our 1st gathering, I've got to say we had a great time and meet a lot of great people. Everyone made us feel welcome.

You will certainly see us at future gatherings.

The dog made it home. I had a great time, as usual.

Glad I missed the rain -- well, except for a few really big drops from the sky Saturday night.

Good food -- I was stuffed. Good campfire -- twenty logs at a time will make a mighty fine fire.

I'll probably see some of you next month at Ray Roberts.

We got back at 2:30 p.m. and was pouring down rain at our house . We had a super time and meet some awesome people and got some great ideals. The only bad thing, was it was just too short. Ink's Lake State Park was beautiful. It was our first gathering and it want be our last. Thanks everyone.  :applause: :applause: Peg

Made it home, safe and sound. Good people, good food, and even good weather; it was indeed a great weekend!

Yes, CD 20 logs is something that even Warpony would have been proud of! :campfire:

Until the next gathering

Since Woody was planning on either continuing his camping trip or making Inks his new home, I was the next to last out of the park. Made it home an hour and a half ago, unloaded, bathed (YEA!) and am currently drinking my first beer of the weekend. What's up with that?

My sister and her husband said they had a great time and really enjoyed meeting everyone. They were amazed how nice everyone was (but then, they are easily fooled!). My niece and her daughter are sick, sick, sick with some type of stomach virus. If you touched my great-niece--you are doomed!

Jake had a great time, and lastly, so did I. It was really fun seeing so many of you again even with the short time since LCGII. I was so happy to see so many new faces--and their builds were fantastic. Dooner, Roberto--I know we'll see you again. We all need to convince Dooner to bring his whole family next time and Woody to bring fewer. (JUST KIDDING, WOODY!) Peggy, Lynn, Tom--get those trailers finished. It was great to finally meet both of you.

A huge thanks to SteveH for getting there early and doing such a good job on keeping the group close together.

Thank all of you that cooked for my sorry a$$. I'll try to contribute on that end in the future.

What a wonderful weekend! :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

I forgot to see what our glass project looked like in the day time. The fire was so hot, that we were able to melt a wine bottle into a pile of goo.

Hey Gang,
I want to say that I had a great time, even though the boys kind of took me away from the group a lot. I want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome.
This was the first of many gathering that I plan to attend and it was an experience. A real learning experience.
I learned....
1. That Cindy used to be real HOT and Dave still thinks she is. They are a great couple. :)
2. There still are good friendly people in the world. :worship:
3. I need a place to put my shoes at night and I got a great idea from Eddie Smelley. Thanks.
4. Woody has soft feet.
5. Cypress is a good structural wood.
6. You CAN heat a td with a hairdryer. Thanks Tony for 5 and 6. :D
7. Teardroppers are the upper crust of the world. You will never find any nicer people anywhere ready to help, share, and be a friend. There is so much love at a gathering, that no matter how cold it gets, you will always be warm.
Oh yeah, last but not least, 8. if your butt is burning from some HOT food you ate earlier, you can get some relief if you can just catch a good splash. :?

Thank you everyone. I think you guys are the best people that I have ever met in my intire life. I am looking forward to making as many gatherings as possible.
Till next time, PPPPPPTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! :R

And on a side note, who ever brought the bag of Fritos scoops to the pot luck, my boys picked them up by mistake. We brought two bags of regular Fritos and had one left over, and they were thinking we had two. So I owe you a bag of chips. Sorry. Please let me know who you were.
Dooner.

Thanks for the great intro to Teardroping!

Postby johnnysfun » Mon Nov 19, 2007 12:11 am

I really enjoyed getting to see my first real live teardrop. Even though I have followed the site for almost a year, getting to see all the great workmanship in person was a real treat.

Becky and her dad now have the bug too! On our drive back to Houston this morning, Becky was sharing her thoughts about what our teardrop ought to have. This might have been easier when it was totally my idea. Oh well, a bit of additional input might improve the finished product a great deal.

And what a great group of people. We really appreciate the invitation to join the "pot luck." We had other plans but based on the feedback, we evidently missed a great time. And since I didn't see anything about flaming turkeys, I am guessing the the fried turkey turned out great. No "fire extinguisher" seasoning is a good thing.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and reams of information.
