I am new to this teardrop idea I saw a few on Ebay and thought boy those are neat sure and would beat using a tent. I teach industrial arts in a small HS in eastern Ks and thought building one as a HS shop project would do two things give my class a project and me a camper, little did I realize that after I found this site and few others that THERE ARE TOO MANY CHOICES!!!!!! Luckly I have access to welders, saws, clamps etc. what I don't have is a clear idea now as to what style I want and made from what kind of material. I have some ground near Warsaw MO that we like to camp at and one of these little units would be great for weekend trips. Well have to go now and surf some more and come up with an idea.javascript:emoticon('')

Well, welcome to the board.

Making a choice can be tough when there is so much available. Just make a list of what is most important to you and then look through albums and the Hall of Fame to get ideas that you would like to incorporate. With all of that in hand, you should a least be able to narrow it down a bit.

Good Luck, and again, Welcome!

What ever you plan it will take on a life of it's own and change a dozen times before you are through. Sketch until you find a profile you like then try and draw to scale as possible. There are little dimension suprises awaiting you but the build and anticipation is 90% of the fun. So have a good time and start makin' sawdust !

Welcome MRW,

Glad you found the forum. Deciding what you want to build is part of the fun. And after you decide, you will probably change you mind several times, before you get done. Be flexible, but most of all try and have fun with your project.

See you around.

Welcome to the forum MRW. We're just east of the border in Rayville MO, won't find it on the map it's half way between Excelsior Springs and Richmond. If you get a chance we're having a gathering in Nevada MO Nov 30 through Dec 2, If the ice storms don't hit. Come on over and get a look first hand at some tears.
Here's the link to the long version of the plans.

Come on! Take a chance and let the kids decide! Then like Brick suggested, you can't build just one! Heck, for the next few years you have you course all set up.

We'd love to hear how you do with the build.
