I was wondering about the normal round metal or aluminum 1" radius fenders sold there in the USA if they can be polished to a very high shine?

Besides having them chromed?

Heikki, obviously the Al ones can be shined to an aircraft grade shine...the steel ones can be polished up to a brigh finish as well...keeping either one shiny is another task altogether.......

Heikki, when they were working on mine they were so brightly polished that they looked almost like chrome before they put the bronze on & then the chromium. Steel and metals in general have really shot up in price lately and getting someone to do a chrome job can take months. I was fortunate to get mine done in a few weeks since they were a new company. I'll have to find another plater if I go with chrome fenders again since these chip real easy. This is the reason I didn't answer your PM the other day on fenders. I really don't have a solution and Jane has some projects for me.

Heikki... Maybe the best idea could be to search around and find a source of stainless steel polished fenders. Around here they are pretty common on boat trailers.

Why don't you go to Russia or Poland, these are the countries where they work for an apple and a egg. Maybe the making time is longer, but they do it good.

Yes Ive heard.. but sorry I wont enter Russia... Do I need to explain :lol:

But I am familiar with Poland and I have lots of friends there plus I speak Polish but writing is another story..

Our Southernmost Lilttle Neighbor Estonia has some places there and Ive talked to a few about it.. Do some great work too..

But for just a few fenders I,ll look at the Stainless.. or some other Options.. :lol:

What about Holland? You live in the Land of Caravans ..am I correct?

What about shining them up all pretty then spraying them with a clear coat? Would that work?

Hi Heikki, Finest Finnish Friend,

You are right about the Holland thing, here are the most caravans per head of the citizens, but as you know, in caravan world they don't use fenders.
Look in your own Suomi, KABE, Solifer, Polar and SMV don't use fenders outside their caravans. I guess you have to look in the motorcycle buiseness to find fenders as they use for their trailers. As far as I know, my neighbour, a real motorman, lets his motorparts always chrooming by a special brand. Tomorrow I shall ask him about this one.
