Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Maybe we should put enough foam insulation in the floor and walls to make 'em float!?

 Flash backs, I woke up once with the floor of the tent feeling like a water bed. Opened the door and the water was flowing under the tent.
I was better than the neighbor down the way his cooler was floating around outside his door.
Yes one of the main reasons I built  Good pic

I did a bicycle tour in Australia once tent camping... It rained for 8 days straight. That really sucked! After a few days everything in our duffle bags was damp. They hauled our gear in big trucks... when they opened the doors to unload the "aroma" would knock you down. There were about 3500 of us on this tour (511 Americans!).

It was still fun though... And, the locals were fantastic at helping us out.
One guy opened his laundromat, set all his machines to free, and handed
us the keys. He just said lock it up when you're through! We were still
washing in the morning though.

Rain

Postby Aaron Coffee » Wed Nov 21, 2007 10:58 pm

Reminds me of a race I went to in 2001. Rained 8 inchs in two days. The lower campground (parking lot) flooded and some campers had a foot of water inside. I was about 2 spots up on the high ground, got 3 inchs of water in my tent, I gave up the teardrop (guess I'm just a nice guy)and slept in my car to the sound of cans and who knows what else hitting the bottom of my car.
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.

That reminds me of a event many years ago. ;)
My two cousins went camping but......the three man tent would hold only two.
With me being the smallest ( not now ) I was to use the truck's front seat.
We cooked and talked and time for sleep. The two cousins went to the tent and me to the truck.......etc.... the wild party at the campsite next door was just getting started ( kids weekend at College ;-).
WWeeeelllll somewhere around three and four am came an BIG WIND AND RAIN storm on top of the mountain campsites. :?
I for some reason rolled over and locked all the doors in the truck while I was asleep :R 8)
The tents door was facing UPHILL towards the truck tailgate.
The rain was so hard and so much of it it was pouring into the tent door like a truck bed full of water being dumped in.
Now after a few #%&@X+* I let them in the truck. It was sure hard wakeing from a nice warm sleep to people banging on the door wanting in. :D
The PARTY NEXT DOOR was a site to see as we watch the cars bouncing off trees and sliding all over the hill getting out of the pouring rain. 8) :D

Now I need to plane poontoons/water holding tanks. :D

Hey Bigwoods from Northern Minnesota....

Glad to meet you.
How come our paths have never crossed here before ?
I know of only 4 others from Minnesota on this form.
We live in Elk River, and we camp all over Northern Minnesota and up the North Shore.
I just reserved 2 nights on Madeline Island for June. Very exciting.!
