When Gore chose Lieberman, I knew all was lost. No way this country was voting for a Jew as VP. I swear--when Gore announced it, I said he blew it.

Same thing with Obama, and I don't care WHAT the polls say. A black man still doesn't have a chance of winning it here.

Finally. as you well know, most representatives in this country, congress or senate, support Israel:

You see, they're the guys who are NOT trying to blow up Americans, unlike every other country in the mideast.

That's a big difference, you know?
Here we go again!

The justice ministry noted that the law gives the right of appeal, but warned that ``resorting to the media'' could have "a negative effect on the other parties in the case''.

Cheers
Paul

It seems ironic that the statement about resorting to the media having a negative effect...was presented to us by the media. Obviously the government's threat was not heeded in this instance. Which begs the question; How often is it heeded?

There is nothing like a bright light to impower right action and change.
Amen that we at least have the First Amendment.

Don't know if you have seen this one yet.

Should we be this aggresive to defend our principles or are these people too aggressive?

Britain should say to Sudan, "Go ahead and punish her, and for each lash you apply, we'll drop one smart-bomb -- each aimed at a Sudanese Judge's home." Forty lashes = Forty Judge's homes rendered into gravel.

Sudan doesn't have that much oil, so the West can take a strong stand, eh?

Of course we all know that a teddy bear doesn't need a name as it already has one...after the first Roosevelt President, Teddy. And as history goes instead of beating someone because of the icon in good American capitalistic free enterprize money was and still is made on the stuffed bear.

It is quite easy to assume the freedom we often take for granted is avaliable everywhere! Not yet, and so when in a less free part of this globe political correctness dictates actions.

Religious correctness is political correctness in a theocracy.

Again thankfully we have the First Amendment.
The vision and depth of understanding that our founding fathers had to develope this experiment called self government has got to be one of the greatest events in human history. Self government is at its best when collectively we govern our self based on integrity and honor and respect for others. The paradox that freedom is contained demands not only respect for our Constitution but the practice of individual virtue.
