I have been a working musician for 30 years.(Weekend warrier)
I have played it all from 50s to present.top 40 Country top 40 rock.
Bluegrass even 50s rock and roll .I love it all.
To say i like one style better than the other would be a disservice to my
freedom of choice if you know what i mean. i prefer acoustic but
like it all..

Heres a short clip from my cd .

My Song

It's all good

Rock of coarse!
Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, SRV, Rush, Neil Young, ZZ top (before that stupid album they made in the 80's). But music must be played on a REAL stereo through REAL speakers, no ipods, no Bose wave turd radios, no surround sound systems, No speakers made by Bose, Pioneer, Infinity or any others that Circuit City or Best Buy sells because they are absolute JUNK! Two channel only! And the speakers must have at least a 10" woofer. Those dinky little surround sound speakers cannot reproduce music with any quality at all! NO subwoofers (unless you listen to Rap, but that doesnt count because Rap is NOT music) No garbage played on MTV or BET because it is all disposable, nasty, garbage without any skilled musicians or talented music/songwriting talent. The only reason those loosers are popular is because MTV tells kids they are, Poor kids these days have no idea what a talented guitarist sounds like. It's really sad.
OK ! I'm done setting things straight for everyone.
Thankyou, thankyouverymuch! Aaron

I'm a rocker,man

Postby Ivar the Red » Mon Nov 26, 2007 10:44 am

I chose rock for a favorite, but that leaves it kind of open. There are so many styles of rock today. When i chose the station or cd it's usally metal, I can not stand pop rock, but i have been known to listen to oldies('60s & '70s) and even some lite stuff(like Journey, Boston, Chicago). I also like southern rock, but can't tolerate whinny, cring in your beer country. Other than the hard stand against country and the backstreet boys, I'll listen to just about ahy thing.

Jeez! Bluegrass and Blues, Jazz and Zappa, Classic Rock and yes even some Hip Hop and Rap (my nome de board, however, is my initials) --I guess I have an eclectic taste. It is almost even easier to tell you what I don't like--noise and cacaphony. Sounds of the city. boom boxes and three chord music with no balls---songs that I've heard to many times yesterday. But even that isn't true as I have a tape of nothing but different versions of "Willin" and "Women are Smarter."

Odd how this could be so difficult of a question, and how it might be easier to tell you that I'm not particularly fond of Garth Brooks but I like Dwight Yokum---but that may just be because of concert memories.

Oh Well! Jerry's Dead and Phish Sucks---and that just about sums it up.

AMEN BROTHER!!!! I kind of disagree with you a little about rap though. Yeah, a SCREEEEEEEMING guitar is the best! 8) I still have a big Pioneer rack system, and when i'm working outside, one of the speakers is proped up in the window, DISTURBING THE PEACE!!!!

You get the picture.

Ditto, but I can't believe you left Clapton off your list :)

That stupid album did the same for ZZ as the stupid album put out in the 80's by REO Speedwagon - gave them a great pension - both were great r'n'r/blues bands before their 80's 'radio' albums.

Have to disagree, I'll put my 20+ year old Canadian made/engineered Energy Pro 22's with their 6" woofers up against pretty much anything.

Airspeed wrote:Poor kids these days have no idea what a talented guitarist sounds like. It's really sad.
True but there are a surprising number of kids who DO know what talent is, I am blown away at how into real music some are.

Most any music is alright by me, live is best for sure. Blues, r'n'r, reggae, jazz, folk, bluegrass, anything acoustic. I can take country once a year or so, but I'd rather hear a piston go through my block.

Yeah, and the speakers are so big and heavy i have to strain to get them in the window. It came with a turn table for records, and belive it or not the componet got a lot of play(it wore out). Then i replaced it with a sony 5 cd componet. That was still a new tech when i got that part,$500! Times change, and so do prices, some good some not so much.

I had a pair of those! They were cool little speakers, but in my hands they didnt last very long, I like to feed my speakers lots of power and listen loudly and the first thing to go was the tweeters, which was a bummer cause they sounded pretty good back then, then the surrounds on the woofers started to rip away from the stitches. mine had the surrounds sewn on and that was one of the reasons I bought them, I had never seen sewn on surrounds before, They were great, They just couldnt be played as loud as I play mine. Hang on to those! Aaron
