A Teardrop Buddy

Looks like we may be going to Germany to pick up a little teardrop buddy.

But cant decide which one of the little fellas we want. Wife says only one.

We had two of 'em at once, loved them both...

BUT!

Be prepared

They are HIGH energy WORKING dogs...

Can be very stubborn and prone to running away from home.

Hard to train to heel. They WANNA pull!

Ours liked to KILL chickens!

JMO, I don't mean to sound sooo negative... Just be prepared!

My friend, just wanted to INFORM! They are a demanding breed! BUT can be very satisfying/rewarding to own.

I know its a tuff choice but thats what the wife says we,ll know when we see them. But the photos sure make a person want to take them all and Im just the easy at heart to do so..

Yes Ive hear that unless you start them off at an early age they can do exactly as they want..

These are the Old Line Dogs too.. Wonder how many I need to pull the tear?

We saw the Huskey also at a show the past weekend.. What power they
have. And so intelligent.

We used to "Ski-Jorr" with our Huskies, what fun!

YES they definately have a mind of their own!

YES you'll want to train them from young....

YOU will have to be the ALPHA male.

Coop or anyone. Can 1 husky pull a sled with an adult? Or is it so that 2 is a minimum?

We dont plan on any races but only for our outdoor enjoyment.

This pup were after is an OLD LINE of Husky..

And at what age should one start to teach the sled? And what type of sled is recommended.

Ive located a training trike here at a fairly god price as well.

The wife said this evening that we could take trip way up North in Finland where they have Husky Safaris so we can get a taste of the Dogs working in the real environment. So that will be fun.

The pups above are 4 weeks old and they will be able to leave at 9 weeks so weve got time to prepare things. We may even take the tear up there to stay in.

I think you want to have a team of dogs for pulling a sled, but you can look into pulka (which is different than teaching your dog to polka) and skijoring. Dogs should be over 35 lbs and in good health to participate in either of those sports.
I'm sure you can find some good information on the internet.

You know somthing. Pulkka is a Finnish Word for Sled. Well after we learn the Pulkka we can go and do the Polka... I be good at that.. That comes naturally with us Finns.

I just read that at 5 months its a good time but again someone else might think different.

Been corresponding with the Kennel in Germany and they say that when I get the pup its already collar trained.. Seems sort of young but ok.

Id be joining the Husky Club here also so I know I,ll get a lot of info there too.

I'm not much of a dancer, but coming from A polish family you would think I could polka....but no.

I was going to suggest 6 months, that is usually what they say for agility training, I figured it must be the same.
