At this campground, you don't reserve actual sites. You just reserve space. I believe it is Todah that is going to get our spots together when she arrives, as long as we are paid up for them.

She MAY be able to get your spot for Saturday, if the campground is not full on Friday night. She can ask, anyway.

Even if she can't, you probably won't have any trouble getting a spot near us. Just tell the person at the check-in office that you want to be with the Teardrop group.

How far from Denton to Grapevine....?
I heard the girls at work talking about this cool exhibit and then read Gingerbread house life size so this is definitely something I want to see!

* Mark and Cindi, I love AVAR. As CaseyDog said, the Texas State Parks won't let you reserve a specific site, but they guarantee that you will have a site. You pick the site at check. For Saturday check in, I can check you in on Saturday morning if you send PM me your registration #. Just came, we'll squeeze you in somewhere.

** OKJewels, Grapevine is not far from Denton...about 25-30 miles south of Denton.

*** AGAIN, IF YOU WOULD LIKE FOR ME TO CHECK YOU IN, PLEASE, PLEASE PM ME BY TUESDAY OF NEXT ;) .

Just a little farther down I-35 Julie. Answer about 25 miles ( short drive in Texas ) just do not miss your turn off or it will be 40 miles back to get there.

Google Map Here

You can use the same map to find direction from the lake ( shown near top and Denton to Grapevine - ie... if you know the address just do a search ).

Thanks Karol for the door prizes. You will be missed. Too bad we don't have a webcam for you to watch!

Now be sure to etch in stone the Beaver's Bend gathering at least!

Julie, the Gaylord is not terribly far from Denton as the crow flies, however, traffic near Grapevine mills will be horrible. I would suggest that anyone who wants to make a run over the the Gaylord group up and carpool so you can chat and laugh it up as you sit in traffic. The worst is on 121 around Grapevine Mills Parkway, although all the roads in the Dallas area will be busy on weekends during holiday shopping season.

That's if they make it across Lake Lewisville Bridge w/o a sluggish traffic.

Another option is to take I-35W in Denton (like going to Ft. Worth) then exit Hwy 114 into Grapevine. It has a lot of traffic on Friday evenings but it is more fluid.

I just made reservations for Saturday night (have to work Saturday morning). We should be out there around 3 or 4. When is the big dinner everyone is bringing food for? If it is Saturday evening then we can bring something too.

I'll send you my reservation number Todah.

The pot luck dinner is Saturday evening -- usually around five-ish.

Kai, Turkey sounds good. Tammy & I were thinking about doing chicken tenders & fried okra. We are also bringing as much fire wood as I can get in the truck with our other stuff. We travel heavy. Can't wait to everyone again.

Todah,
Do we bring one present per person or one per campsite? We're not really sure how Chinese gift giving works. What did ya'll do last year. Looking forward to finding out.
