Ahem...and just what is wrong with eating lutefisk?

Some of us actually like it.

(And I am not even Scandihoovian and I wasn't bribed or posting this under duress, or abducted by aliens, or own stock in the company).

Heikki,
We travel up and down the state a lot. If you need our help let us know.

My hubby will eat anything and he tried Lutefisk and he said it was pretty nasty. I didn't try it but it sure smelled bad. :) But being a scandihoovian I enjoy trying to get people to eat it.

And therein lies the secret...if you boil the heck out of it, like most people do, it is nasty, nasty, nasty! Smelly fish flavored Jello.

But bake it and you will have a whole different experience - nice and flaky. Served up with drawn butter.

Now granted, I was raised on the North Atlantic and cut my first teeth on fried clams and lobster, so I like most things fish-like. I probably would never have even tried lutefisk if I hadn't married into it and was just being polite for the sake of my future husband and inlaws. But, 26 years and many lutefisk opportunities later, I can say that I now choose to eat it but ONLY when it is prepared well (Does that mean I'm a lutefisk snob?)
