Howdy from north of the 49th parallel

Postby B-Bop » Tue Dec 04, 2007 11:26 pm

Allow me to introduce myself from the Great White North. North of the 49th parallel that is. (Calgary, AB, Canada) My name is Barry Klassen and I have been lurking around this site for the last year or so. I cannot believe how much information I have soaked up, and how much time I have spent sitting in front of this PC. I started gathering metal to build my frame a year and a half ago and then last spring I found a great project on Craigslist just outside of Vancouver BC. Like all things in my life, I could not resist another project. The trailer is fairly sound, but the galley was never finished so I am doing a major rebuild on the galley by adding a built in cooler, new cabinets and a swing out stove. The interior cabinets are built too low for me to sleep with. I am waking up by smashing my knees into them during the night, so they will get rebuilt as well. I have already added new LED tail lights and LED marker lights on all four corners. There is only one door at this time with no opening window. There is also no roof vent, so it gets pretty warm in the heat. I am building two new doors and have already got two sliding windows from an RV dealer. I will try to add build photos along the way as I have learned a lot from the rest of you on this site that are showing your builds.

Besides the teardrop, I am into all things old and musty. I tow the tear with an almost done, ’29 Model A sedan. See pictures in my album. Other projects on the go are a ’51 Suburban, ’27 Model T roadster, and the retirement project is a ’51 GMC COE toterhome for luxury touring.

Welcome fellow street rodder. Nice rig. Will be towing our tear with our 50 Chev pick-up. Gonna piant our fenders to match the truck very similar to yours. Love the early Ford tudors. Hopefully we can run to each other at a rod run someday.

Hi Barry,

Welcome to the forum. I'm looking for a project too... something with 4 wheels this time... and with an engine in the front! Anyways, I checked out your album... you need a few more pictures in there.

Mike...
