I just want to introduce my self to everyone on here. I am a nurse and live near Tampa, Florida. I have wanted a tear drop for about 4 years. I look at everyones pictures and I am sure jealous. I am tired of tent camping and a tear drop would be wonderful. Thanks

After looking at the pictures on here and all the plans would it be very hard to build one? I wouldn't need anything fancy just functional??

Have you already checked out the Generic Benroy plans, up there in the menu?

I did take a look at the Benroy Plans and I am going to appeal to my male neighbors egos and tell them I am going to build this. Hopefully they will pitch in :) Michelle

As a newbie too, I'll bite. I keep seeing references to plans. I see the plans forum. I'm still struggling to find actual plans. I would think plans would be posted with a 'stickie' to keep them at the top of the page and be a downloadable .pdf file. By plans, I mean drawings, materials listings, etc. Am I missing something? :delivery:

I clicked on the Generic Benroy Plans and read through them. I am sure that if you have built things before it would make more sense. It looked kind of intimidating to me but it is worth a try

Yep, you are missing them. ;) They are at the top of every page in the site. Look at the right of the top line of links in the header for Generic Benroy Plans. It's a 3.9 mb .pdf file with tons of info on the design and building of the trailer.

 Image Michelle. Trust me, if I can do it most people can. Your male neighbors might have some tools to loan in exchange for information on how to. 8)

The hardest part is holding the sides up long enough to put some screws in boards you make to hold them up. A helping hand is a wonderful thing. :applause: ;) 8)

Enjoy and take lots of pictures cause they keep the bubble oil level and keep MadJack happy, to say nothing of that Aussie we love to tease. 8)

Hi Michelle,

Welcome to the forum. We have quite a few women builders here. Aunti M, my wife, built ours and did a darned good job on it. If you are determined and have some basic building skills, you can do it too. And if we can answer any questions, just ask.

See you around.
