It can be done, I feel the other thread losing steam and it will probably die any time.

They'll all start migrating here

There is still time to talk a little football, anyone want to talk football? A subject like that could boost our post, in the right hands. Oh yeah, good morning everyone! Wet and cold here, no ice, yet.

I just hope this stuff gets to melt off before the snow starts to fly or we're gonna have serious power issues around here too.
I believe the weatherman said it was suppose to go to just rain which it is doing but the ice doesn't seem to be melting away....not a good thing.
I've got to go out to the garage and find my jig saw, hopefully I can make it there and back without being turned into a Popsicle!!

Stella Awards!

Time once again to review the winners of the Annual "Stella Awards." The Stella Awards are named after 81 year-old Stella Liebeck who spilled hot coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonald's (in NM).  That case inspired the Stella Awards for the most frivolous, ridiculous, successful lawsuits in the United States.

Here are this year's winner:

1st Place :

This year's runaway winner was Mrs. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Mrs. Grazinski purchased a brand new 32-foot Winnebago motor home.  On her first trip home, (from an OU football game), having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver's seat to go into the back & make herself a sandwich.  Not surprisingly, the RV left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Mrs.Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising her in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually do this.  The jury awarded her $1,750,000, plus a new motor home. The company actuallychanged their manuals on the basis of this suit, just in case there were any other complete morons around.

a little humor

Postby Ivar the Red » Thu Dec 13, 2007 6:10 pm

Subject: Twas the Night Before ...

A Redneck Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and inside the house;
my cat was digesting the last of a mouse.
My fishing sock hung on the heater with care;
a strong foul stench saturated the air.

The kids were passed out on the floor by the bed;
while visions of pick up trucks raced through their heads.
And Ma in her curlers...both teeth with gold caps;
was sobering up with a long winters nap.

The Christmas lights flashed in red, white and blue;
as I opened the fridge for a well deserved brew;
when it suddenly struck me...the worst of my fears;
the stores were all closed...we were all out of beer!

A velvet of Elvis hung over the sink;
I searched the whole house..there was nothing to drink.
Put my NASCAR pajamas on over my head;
double flushed a big dump and went straight to my bed.

When out on the law I heard such a clamor;
Thought the cops had arrived to throw me in the slammer!
Away to the window I flew like a flash;
tripped over my hound dog and busted my ass.

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow;
gave the lustre of midday to my junkyard below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear;
but an old John Deere tractor with eight cases of beer.

With a little old driver who appeared to be drunk;
when he got off the tractor he fell over some junk.
He got up and brushed off the snow from his suit;
proceeded to unload that trailer of loot.

He had Budweiser, Miller and Michelob Light;
Heineken, Amstel and Bourbon with Sprite;
Shaeffer, Corona, Red Stripe and Coors;
Tanqueray, Jim Beam, Cuervo and Dewars.

Away from the window I had just turned around;
when this white bearded drunk burst inside with a bound.
He wore camouflage pants and a hat that said "Dodge";
his short pocket label read "Bubba's Garage".
A red swollen face and a little round belly;
that shook when he laughed like my wife's KY jelly.

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work;
let go a loud fart then he let out a burp.
He piled up goodies from inside his bag;
which was made from a bunch of confederate flags.

There were also some gifts for Ma and the boys,
A carton of Redman and a shitload of toys!
A new trolling motor for when we go fishin;
A Garth Brooks CD and a rebuilt transmission.

A smile appeared as he opened a brew;
got out his tobacco and bit off a chew.
He slipped on some jerky that fell on the floor;
stumbled and fell headfirst straight out the door.

Got up on his tractor and cranked up the wreck'
the words on the side read "The Christmas Redneck"!
Then I heard him yell out as he drove out of sight;
"Best Fishes Y'All....and to All a Good Bite!"

Merry Christmas
Johnny
