Oh Lynn, that is so cute and perfect for the Inkwell! Good find on Ebay too!

I've bought a couple more Camp Dutch Oven pots for camping but I think I have finished. I don't want so many that I will never use them all. Now, for Christmas I have hinted for a cover for the Tear but I doubt that the husband had his ears open or he was pretending to be deaf. I did want a custom cover but they are too much :money: , so I think I may go with a cover for a van and see if that works. Right now I have a gray tarp on it and my neighbors are probably tired hearing me scream when I lift it and the green tree frogs plant themselves on my face! Yep, so far has happened twice on the face, once on my neck and once down the back of my shirt. The little green shi*s scared the cra* out of me! But, I love frogs so I don't care if they live there...just wish they wouldn't go down my shirt...eeeuuuuwwww.

I hope they're not leaving frog droppings on your tear.

Eunice:

Are you painting the inside or out? If outside, what do you use and do you spray or hand roll? My Tear is white and I wanted to get a murial painted on it of a Louisiana swamp scene but it would cost more than the Teardrop did. So, I just may have it painted by a car shop.

The Inkwell is lookin' good! I like the paint job...it will look terrific when finished. Now are you sure the doctor said to stay off that leg or are you just letting Paul do all the dirty paint work and supervising from afar?

 Yeah, unfortunately the doc did say I couldn't work on the trailer until March. Now, I've done some things and will do what I can when I can. I stained the desk last week. I'm applying urathane (sp) today. I've got two coats on, don't know if I'll get to do the third coat today.

Currently, Paul is under the trailer applying another layer of protection with paint.

She was about 10 or 11 and strutting her new bra but kept accusing me of getting in her purse she got for being the oldest and most lady like. :R I didn't realize they would duck for cover down her shirt.

The scream just about killed the parents.

Lynn I am so happy you are up and around. I got to get out today and go get firewood. Felt good to do something physical, to say nothing of just getting out

Outside. it is aluminum. during the summer I did the fenders. They are primered and ready for paint. Sanding them is a little different than aluminum. I am going to use a sprayer with automotive paint. It is definitely a learning experience for me. Kenny can do it and my neighbor has been helping me so I have support when I freak out! I want this done before the 15th Dam gathering. I have awesome decals for the sides and back.
Have you looked at decals? there are several on the web.

What I want for the Sunspot is a new battery and new tires...but really no sense getting them until spring unless I can somehow find inside storage space. The garage space I was looking at fell through when I had to stay in NYC for extra days at the beginning of the month.

For now, she's sitting in my condo's 'extra' parking lot, bracing for the nor'easter that's due to hit at midnight. I probably should go pull the curtains out of her so that they're in a dry spot in case the snow load is real heavy and finds it's way inside. Guess I know if there are any leaks I haven't found when it's over!

Lynn and Miriam, glad both of you are getting up and aorund. In a few days I'll move to my own new level of the DL--radiation and a new round of treatment starts for me on Christmas Eve. I'm hoping it won't make me too tired and that I'll be able to maintain most of my daily activities until it's over at the end of January. I did lay in a small collection of fabric to begin piecing the throw for my cot/mattress, but then had an inspiration in a different direction. I have literally hundreds of ribbons earned over the years showing dogs...2 inches wide, and mostly 8 inches long, satin with gold letters embossed on them of the trial name, date and class. Dog show people are always trying to think of ways to use them--sometimes we regift them to 4H clubs to use for their matches, and I actually know how to make a holiday wreath from them which looks really cool. But while I was playing with patterns for the quilt, I realized that if I used the ribbons as my quilt top, they'd be prehemmed, edges already finished, and the resulting throw would be full of special memories. So now I'm thinking of a way to incorporate them into a throw, or maybe pillow covers in the trailer--all I'd have to do is piece them. Ideas, ideas and never enough time!

Hope everyone in the midwest is getting back to normal...my mom is getting all nervous about the coming storm and I keep reminding her that we LIVE here and winter is what central NY is all about.

:worship: Gaelen, lots of hugs and prayers for you. I really thought the "pill" would be a breeze and it kicked my butt, or something did. We will just pray for you some extra strength and a speedy forever healing.

Now for the ribbon thing. WOW! Great idea. If you want to make them into a log cabin or crazy quilt type, you can sew them on news paper so they stay square. Makes it a lot easier.

Thanks, Aunti M. In stage IV there is no 'forever healing' -- only, if lucky, periods of remission. I managed to get 21 months out of the last remission, so fingers crossed.

I think so too! I was thinking of making a test 'square' pillow cover so that I can see how well they hold up...they may not be able to take the wear and tear, and if not, I'll just piece the really memorable ones (Casey's Best of Breeds, and Reuben's first points, and each dog's first qualifying legs for titles) into a wall hanging that doesn't have to take any stress from use. But if the test square pillow cover holds up in daily use, then maybe I'll make a full fledged throw for the camper.

I had to restore a vintage log cabin made of satins and velvets when I was a young and hungry artist and it was a lot of work. I learned then...make sure your materials can handle the stress of the use you've got planned for them.

I did think of a trailer present that I *could* get now...I just bought the Tom-Tom One XL that is QVC's today's special value. I don't know if I'll make it across country to the IRG2 next summer, but if I can do it, I'll be ready. 8)

Gaelen I hope that you feel better and dont lose strength. You will be in my prayers. I sure hope that you can make it to IRG2. What a trip that would be! Cant think of a more beautiful spot to see the redwoods than Pamplin Grove. it is so pretty.
