HOORAY sun is OUT power is ON (as of 10:30am sunday)

Postby oklahomajewel » Sun Dec 16, 2007 3:04 pm

I'm so happy!!!!! The sun is out today , everything's dripping and melting... went over to the house and wow!!!!! heater is humming , lights are working... that was at 10:30 this Sunday morning.... almost exactly a full 7 days that power was out ! Took about 2 hours for the house to get heated up again ... I went to get some breakfast and stopped and gave hugs to 3 different North Houston crews that were working in my neighborhood...

and ya know, I thought it was just our OG&E guys that were so good looking but those North Houston power guys were pretty hunky too !!! haha

Thanks to Houston, Louisiana, North Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas and others for coming to our rescue!!!!

Julie

Julie-
We (me and 3 kids) passed by your street today. (On Reno) Wondered if you had power or not yet. Saw lots and lots of power crews out. We were on our way to the ice skating ring downtown after lunch. Really glad to hear things are brighter at home tonight!!! Now the clean-up can really begin.

I'm hearing the same thing from the Tulsa area power is being restored and the cleanup is in progress.

Just be careful about being around power line while cleaning up. You just have to be close to get a "Real Buzz" ( maybe the last buzz you will ever here - be very careful ).

We were out of power for 7 days also. Luckily we had the motorhome to sleep in. Of course it was winterized so no water, but we stayed warm. We lost everything that was left in the refrigerator and most of the things in the freezer. We also had a lot of water to clean up in the floor from the freezer. So many limbs were down that it looked like a toronado had struck. We lost one shed from trees going through the roof and there were limbs on the house but it seems to have with stood them. A few days before the storm struck, Gene and Jon put all the TD's inside, how lucky. Can't relly complain, many others had it a lot worse.

Hope everyone is healthy and happy!
