Teardrop Rental in San Francisco Area Wanted

Very responsible older couple looking to rent a teardrop trailer for about a week around New Year's to go south from Berkeley California. Alternatively, would conside buying a well priced teardrop.

Any ideas? We already know about hardtents.com and hoping to find something a bit less expensive. Thanks for your help!
