Does anyone have any experience with the Coleman ProForce 3750 watt generator? It seems like a good price at Northern Tool $319.99

I wonder if 10 hours run time at half load means it burns 3 gallons in 10 hours. Could be expensive to run.

We are looking too but I want to be able to afford to use it. ;)

I was thinking about getting the little 1000W (continous) generator that Northern Tools has for $119. All I need it for is to recharge the battery during the day and some light load stuff.

I've got the coleman 6250 (5000 watts cont), and am very pleased with it. It's not going to win any award as the most quiet generator, but it's not too horrible either. I use it to power the shop, and haven't had any problems with it. I suspect that its little brother would be about the same, they are really more of a scaled down construction site type generator, and from what I could research before buying mine, people are very happy with them.

They, Colmen , also make that little 1800 generator... but from what I have read so far, it mat be to small to run a small window unit....

1800 watts should run most small window shakers . . . . but any 3600 RPM generator isn't going to make it easy to sleep - Even if you CAN sleep over the noise, your neighbors throwing shoes (and rocks?) at you all night long would make getting good rest a real problem

We have a small Coleman.....1850??......but truth is IF I was EVER going to by another gen it would be a Honda. Quiet and less obtrusive to the camping experience. Now that being said, I wish they would ban all generators and gensets in all Nat Forest and State Forests CG's at anytime of the day. There is nothing quite like the peace and quiet of a 5000w Harbor Freight special running 5 doors down next to you while the folks are in nuking a bag a popcorn!

For years now, ours lives in the corner of our garage in the event of a multi day ice storm and power outage. It never sees the "great outdoors" anymore.

Sorry about the "rant"! Just a pet peeve our ours!!

For beach camping the 1800 would work great. I have a Honda 2000, but it is never run at night on the beach. The TV runs off the inverter. And at the beach you don't need an A/C at night. Just position the tear with the windows facing the gulf and the sea breeze will come in one window and out the other like A/C.
