New builder from San Diego

Hi Everyone;

I wanted to post this short message to introduce myself and thank everyone for the excellent information!

I live in San Diego and started building my first teardrop about 2 months ago (I've wanted to build one after seeing several at Burning Man a few years back). I started with a HF 4x8 trailer and have almost completed the framing. For the last week I've been working on the wiring design and will hopefully get that completed in the next month so I can start skinning.

I love the forums and really appreciate all the great insight and information; it's making the project much more enjoyable!

Say Art, where did you get your formed skin for the tear. And welcome aboard.

I got the skin from a toy hauler/camper builder in El Cajon-CA, Callen Campers. It's kind of pricey ($4 sq/ft) but I like the look. They can press a variety of patterns. I only had to go back once!

Wow I had no idea Callen was still in business. They built me a camper shell for my truck in 1978. They did a good job too. Just too heavy for my body to remove. Danny
