Beavers Bend '08

Postby reo-ron » Thu Dec 20, 2007 1:04 pm

Hey it's only 12-13 weeks till Beavers Bend. Ya'll gotta be thinking about camping!! I'm tired of the whole Christmas thing and it ain't even happened yet! I'm gonna put a hitch on the new ( 1956) tow vehicle over the holidays and if it ain't sold by then, It'll be a blast to teardrop in. Who's planning this thing? Linda is that you? Who's planning to go?? We can make this as big as LCG if we start now. Besides we need TWO big parties/gatherings a year- One to start camping and One to end camping season. Yea I know some of you hard cores and beach dwellers camp year round. ME NO CAMP IN SNOW !!!(or very cold) . Lets shoot for 65-70 campers and show the rest of the country what a gathering should be. Happy Camping

We are moving to a new building at work so they have imposed a vacation freeze until April 1. So I vote for April 4-6.

The last couple of years it's been the end of March. At least that's what I think I remember! That's one reason to start now is to get a date before everyone gets the schedule full. I'm open for March 28-30 or April 4-6. Hey Linda , what's yours and Charles time look like? Hey Scott maybe they can finish the move early if its March. You can beg for the last couple of days if you have to.

Gene, Jon and I plan on being there. After all, that is our "anniversary" with you guys, (even if it was in a motorhome). Either week end is fine with us, just make it so everyone else can be there. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

I have been thinking about Beavers Bend all week.
Either date is fine The sooner the better. I will plan my spring trip around it. By then I will really be sick and tired of Iowa winter

We would prefer the weekend of 4 April, but could make the last weekend in March as well.

Looking forward to it, as we have missed the past gatherings there.

Yep, Me too I'd prefer the 4th. Then I'd only have to take off 2 days instead of 3.

OK everyone.
I'll get on the phone first thing next Wednesday and see how those two weekends look for the park.
I am hoping we can completely fill up the Buckeye section this year.

Here is a little information on reservations for those that have not attended before and a reminder for those that have.

We can only make reservations for a group of 10 or more. I will reserve as many sites as possible. The park will send me a bill for the first nights fee for all sites and I will then have 2 weeks to collect from you all you.
On Saturday the park host will count teardrops, tents, senior citizens etc and we will tally up the bill and collect then.

I will post all of the information ASAP from talking to the park.

I'm already looking forward to a camp out as the fall is normally my busy season in the shop. Except for this year. I fought Bronchitis, asthma and allergies for the last 3 months. Lost time in the shop and missed a craft show. So now I'm ready to think about seeing lots of teardrops.

Charles and I wish each of you a very Blessed Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.

That a girl Linda!!! :applause: I knew you'd take the hint. Seriously I as well as most everyone really do appreciate it when folks take over setting up a gathering . I know it's not a small task and I am glad you are willing to do the leg work to put this together. THANKS
Merry Christmas and Happy Camping to all my Teardrop friends. :peace:

Just by looking at this thread we have 11 sites already filled.
I think we filled 25 or 26 last year. We should easily fill the entire Buckeye section this year.

We can cross our fingers that the B section is empty for the weekend of April 4, 5, 6th. I'll aim for that weekend when I call.

Count us in. I haven't been camping in 2 weeks. I'm already getting cabin fever.
