Just thought i would introduce myself to you all and say what a great site this is, I'm planning to build after the new Year a Mini Hopper, Grasshopper style camper. Ive already got some good idea's from this site already. It will be steel framed and ply walled. It will be travelling offroad so it needs to be strong and it will be build with side bars, jerry can holders and awning . Adding a Gas oven, grill, hotplate style cooker and Generator, stereo, roftop DVD player etc. I'll of course post piccies as we go, so if you have any tips send em my way

cheers

Rabs

Thanks for all the welcomes, ive kinda decided which way i'm going to go on this build, I wanna make it a mini hopper/grasshopper style with a military kinda look and feel, E.G brush bars on the side, jerry can holders and I'm going to paint it Urban Camo, I guess some of you will be turning grey in your teardrops by not leaving the ply varnished but doesn't suit the 4x4 driving bush theme that im after. If anyone has some tips on how the hell i paint camo please let me know, pity i cant get it ready to apply in a tin

cheers

Welcome Rabs. Look forward to seeing some pics as your build progresses.

I had the chance to spend a few weeks in Newcastle (out at RAAF Williamstown) nice spot you live in there, really enjoyed visiting.

Welcome Rabs,
the beauty of all this is that it is your creation, build and decorate to what suits you.

Well there is a lot more detail work to be done. 69" wide x 120" long x 48" - 78" tall~.

You can cover the door panels with what ever you wish. You can build whath ever thickness you want without too much weight, just bulk. 8)

Building blocks of metal clad insulated doors. Huummmm.

The smaller trailer I made is the same way but simpler and quicker build except no popup top and a side door and only 48" x 96" x 42" tall.
