Thanks for that info Gaelen... Do you think you will be able to attend yourself?

Bill... would be great to have you back in for the TearUp! Maybe you'll have to order up another Camp-Inn down the road! Yes the rules are only one trailer per site, but you can have tents as well for a max limit of 6 people per site.

I've got my fingers crossed, Dave...it's on my work calendar. But I've been back on oncologist's time since the week before Christmas...that's even harder to regulate than 'teardrop time.' When I come off treatment Feb. 1, hopefully they'll get everything in gear and be done with whatever they plan by end of April, so I can be off treatment and recovered from whatever surger(ies) they're cooking up, back in remission, and all will be good.

At this point, I'm just hoping that whatever they come up with doesn't keep me from seeing my nephew's final college lacrosse season and totally mess up my trip to the English Cocker National Specialty April 12-18. With any luck, they'll do their thing right after the specialty, and I'll get eight weeks disability to heal up. And if I'm strong enough, I can fit in a little camping in the last few weeks of recovering.

OTOH, I've had SO much success getting Dr. Personality in NYC to plan things to fit into *my* schedule...but a girl can dream! Planning about what I would do with my own teardrop got me through the first two surgeries...maybe the third time's the charm... :o

Thanks Dave,

During our split I must have thrown away the FC info. We cancelled, because I didn't think I would get to go. I met this wonderful lady, that has a brother who lives at Lake George. I am not sure how long I might be there at FC,because we may visit her brother while up your way. I may build my own the for the next teardrop. There is even a chance I get my "golden" canoe back also. They are holding it for me until I can gather the money.
I know the park isn't full at that time of year, but I may not be able to get a site near you folks, unless I share. Have months to work that out,and thanks for the info.

Hi Marc,

Joanne booked 250 but noticed afterwards my note about holding it. She wanted to contact you to let you know that she will simply switch if they do come.

Speaking of that.. do your SASK friends know if they can make it yet?

PS. Happy New Year one and all!

Yes, worst case you can at least just come up without a reservation. At that time of the year you have a good chance of getting a site at either end of the 'group'. The following week however is another story... Fish Creek is next to impossible to get into once the kidlets are out!

A Fun TearUp Intro Video

Postby campadk » Wed Jan 02, 2008 5:29 pm

For those that may be contemplating coming to the TearUp but want to ensure that we are
nutty folk first, please visit
http://tearuptheadk.com/videos.html and check out our new Introduction to TearUp the ADK video and the Pot Luck dinner back in 2006.

I have a few more videos to setup in the next day to two which feature many of the fun campers
that have attended in the past and the silly goings on in the Adirondacks...

Sure wish I had video of all Steve's cooking!

Cheers!

Do kayaks need boat launch permits in New York? I know they do in Pennsylvania.

I know you have to pay a usage fee at some campgrounds ( ie. Bowman Lake ) but not at Fish Creek.

If you have your kayak registered,or a use DCNR permit from Pa they are reciprocal to any state. I have my canoes permitted, and have used waters in 10 states, and never a problem. The canoes have been to Fish Creek several times, and no problem.Usage fees are usually posted at docks, none at FC. Most states wave a usage fee if you don't launch at a dock. Severals lake I paddled at have fees, but if you launch, and exit other then a dock ,no fees paid.
