Hi from Mississippi

Postby mallett » Wed Jan 02, 2008 5:08 pm

Hi, I'm Mike Mallett down here in Mississippi. I started my build the second week of October, 2007 . We took it on her maiden voyage December the 21st to Clarkco State park here in Mississippi. This would not have been possible without the help of the information I gleaned from the Internet. I would like to thank, Madjack, Grant, and all the other guys & gals for posting pictures and info on how they went about building their teardrops. I guess the site that inspired me the most was Michael Westhoff and his Luxotear. I pasted pictures of his tear on mine as I was building. I would also like to thank my wife and two sons for all their help. I have uploaded some pictures in album.

Thanks again,

Mike Mallett

Thanks for the warm welcome. I hope to start my next teardrop in a couple of weeks. Think I'll try to build this one a little lighter :)

That was getting up a lot of mornings about 4am and then going to work, then coming in and working on it till 10pm. I enjoyed just about every minute of it. When I start something it's hard for me to quit until I'm finished. That's not a good quality. I'd rather be like you and take my time.

I am still in awe ! The quality of this build in 2 Months ???

Tell us the truth you really started in 2005 and your just trying to mess with us . I worked many 13 hour days during the summer. It got so bad I would come into the kitchen and old what's her name would look at me and say " who are you" I had been missing so long. I will admit I did and redid many facets of the build but I, like you , love the build more than anything. Kudos on the tear it's gorgeous.

I still know you are messin' with us !!!! (grumble grumble)

Hello Mike, Great looking trailer. It's good to see another teardrop with wide whitewalls on the road. I looked at your photo album, and see a bit of LuxoTear DNA there! I really like your gray water holding tank. It's a much better solution than the bucket we use (and frequently forget about when breaking camp). Welcome aboard and congratulations on a successful construction.
