Gage,
Not even close.
Everyone at the gathering might get to meet the General in person this year.
A little known fact about the General... He's been going to Pamplin Grove for 25 years straight now. He got married there and cellebrates his wedding aniversary there each year.
I also met his wife at the public works this year and learned that she worked with my mother for a while... It's a small world.
Joanie and I invited them to join us this year at the gathering...

We won't be doing PayPal this year.
We were informed that insurance rates are going to be higher this year and Joanie wants to keep registration cost just the same as IRG1.0 was. ($30.00)... PayPal was dinging us a couple of bucks for each registration they did last time.

I am planning on attending IRG2.0. IT looks like I am going to turn it into a 2 week vacation.

I know for me I would be willing to pay a surcharge of a couple bucks to have the convenience of paying with paypal. You may want to consider that as an option.

I truly appreciate those of you who did camp out and get the dates for us. Even though I live only about 10 miles from Pamplin I cant wait to get there.

Man... I am really looking forward to seeing you guys again!!! :applause:

Dean, speaking for myself, charge whatever it takes to cover your costs. The price of camping is minor compared to the cost of gas and food.....and charcoal!

Can't wait....

Joanne

WOW JOANNE! You can say that again!!
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour!

 Yes, we've got the dates.
And WoooooooHoooooo, we are looking forward to seeing you!

We'll start planning the daily itinerary and it probably won't vary too much from last time.
The Friday Night Meat -n- Greet is going to happen and Dean wants to do the deep pit BBQ that day/night. A Potluck dinner featuring Dutch Oven Cooking and Awards "Banquet" will be on Saturday.

I believe most people liked the nightly campfire get togethers with our local Park Ranger(s) giving informational presentations.

(And if you didn't, you can hang around in your own campsite area and build a fire! ;)

Also, I know the massage tent was a BIG hit, especially after some of those long drives, but NO massages with the TDN this time. That was for the Inaugural Special, and I plan to enjoy some down time this year and visit more with others. However, if I have enough folks interested, PM me and I can TRY and find another local to come down and do a massage on you for a fee.

Things to consider--- Since we've got so many of you packing iron...
Bring your waffle maker and we'll arrange for a breakfast day/brunch and put it on the event schedule. Still want to have a horseshoe tourney as well; better start practicing now as it might be tough to beat Carl or Donn. Also, those wanting to contribute items for a Saturday Raffle, please feel free to do so. It will more than likely be the 'Pay It Forward' type at this point (like last time). As things come up, we'll post them. Never short of ideas, just time.

TDN
Firewood is always welcomed, so if you can, haul in some of your own. :R
Life's uncertain...eat dessert first. Check out our cooking channel for cast iron:

They aren't kidding, they had one there. I had to pass, I'm not into it. My wife enjoyed it though.

Monday morning it was down to 26 degrees, this might not seem that cold in comparison to other areas, but keep in mind we are at sea level right on the coast. The moisture level in the air here will increase the effect of the cold air. I've been in places where the temps are much lower but the drier air didn't feel nearly as cold as it does here.
