West coast storms...

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

thought we were going to lose our roof last night! The wind really messed up our tarp/sheds. The one the 55 is in was ripped in two. The frame work is trashed. The tear is ok but that shed the zipper was ripped off the door and needs repair. It was quite the light show and Dean is right; there was no counting in between lightening and thunder it was right on top of us. We live 30 miles from Dean so it was a big storm.
Patio furniture is coverd with plastic covers and everything was tossed around in the back yard.
Rosey slept wrapped around my head, she was shaking so bad. Rocky slept through it.

I battled water all day yesterday. my garage had about 5 inches of water in it and all of my things are soaked. If you've seen my garage tis is a problem as it is so full of stuff. It is still raining and cold so no chance to dry anything out yet.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

I reported that my Trailer had leaked some with the heavy rain. The wind drove the rain into the end of the hurricane hinge. If you are using this type of hinge put a piece of weather stripping in the end. I have stuffed a chunk of foam in it till it dries out.

Many miles and many tears. Times were hard but now they're changing.
You should know that I'm not afraid.

We got absolutely pounded by this sucker on Friday. I work in Monterey and the entire City shifted to emergency mode. We had over 50 trees down on property - meaning on houses and cars. The Forestry crews worked around the clock all weekend. At the house, we got about 4 inches in 12 hours. The lights are still out in many places and the street lights still aren't working. They said this was the biggest storm to hit Monterey since the 1950s. Back then, half the sardine fleet ended up on San Carlos Beach. That storm prompted construction of a new Coast Guard breakwater. What a weekend!

No damage to the house, though at one point I was operating a pool cover pump off the inverter in my car (no elect) to keep the water from breaching my Mother-In-Law's house. It worked. No damage, though the Christmas tree blew from the backyard onto the pool cover and tinted the water green....We'll deal with that later.

:o Wow! You guys take it easy out there. We sure can empathize with you. I would rather have wind and rain than ice or snow though.

Happy everyone is surviving
