Anyone within 1hr of D/FW?

Postby 2bits » Tue Jan 15, 2008 1:50 am

I am in the planning stages for building a teardrop and I was wondering if there were any meets planned coming up within a month or so, or if not would anyone let me swing by to say hi, and actually SEE a Teardrop in person before I start?
<Edit> I am reading all the other posts in South Central right now, so I am sorry if I look dumb for posting first :?

There is alot of info on this forum to get you ready, but seeing a tear in person really puts it into perspective, and gets your "Wow - thats what I want" thinking on track.

Thanks guys! I have done a ton of research and I still can't decide if I want to go aluminum or Woody! haha This week I am thinking of a dark Mahogany with light trim on the sides, but the roof is still completely up in the air!

I HAVE decided to build my own frame, and doing 5' wide.

I'll send you guys a PM when I am ready come out and see when you are available! I plan to check out the Cedar Hill gathering for sure! I should be well in to construction as long as my bonus comes through (I work for Countrywide so who knows what will happen now haha :? )

THANKS Mr Bernoulli! !! For letting me stop by and see your TD! It was good meeting you and I hope to see you in April with a Tear of my own in tow!

Hi Greg, I like your teardrop creation and I would love to swing by sometime, I will send you a PM when I have time available coming up and see if we can work something out! I notice in your photos that it looks like you lengthened a 4x8 in to a 10 footer. Was it cheaper or easier or more easily located than a ready-made 10 foot stretch of plywood? I am hoping to find two 10x4 sheets of mahogany plywood. Am I smoking crack? haha

I'm in Frisco. Come on around if you want.

All the people who have posted up in this thread have different TDs in a lot of ways. Good variety.

Look at as many as possible before you start. It will help you decide what you want -- or don't want.
