I'll add my vote to the "it's done all the time" and "vent and you're okay" chorus.
Putting the battery under the propane, with errant propane drifting into the area of electrical connections, seems like a bad plan. Common sense rules.
Having said that, I'm amazed how badly RVs (of most types) are built. Batteries drift around unsecured in their boxes, propane tanks are barely held in place, etc. None of this stuff would pass the most basic technical inspection in the motorsport world, and yet luckily it rarely blows up.
