HF Float Chargers?

Postby Randy77301 » Tue Jan 22, 2008 1:15 pm

I bought 2 of the float chargers yesterday from HF. The cheap one and the $20.00 one.... The directions are confusing, it sais, hook it up and forget about it, but it also sais unhook it before usung the battery.
I was planing on just leaving it hooked up, and use the battery as needed, and when ever the camper is plugged up tp electric, the charger would already be there ready to charge/float.

no I am confused....

Has anyone had any experience with either of these 2 float chargers?

Thanks
Randy

Randy,

I don't have any experience with those paticular chargers, but I would think you would be safe in using it like you want.

What they are afraid of is the battery in use will get too low in voltage and draw too much current from the charger. If it is fused, it should just blow the fuse in that event. If not, well you could smoke the charger.
