What Do You Use For A Ground Cover?

I guess we'll need some sort of ground cover under our feet in the kitchen and under the EZ Up, so we're wondering what all of you use. I've seen some products that advertise the ability to let water and dirt drain right through, but they seem pricey.

What's the consensus here?

We use an indoor/outdoor carpet that we found at one of the home centers, I don't remember which one.

We use an RV plastic mat. If it rains or the ground is wet it will get muddy on dirt. Just the down side gets muddy, but is okay while camping in that spot. Danny

Usually grass but when there is a serious lack of grass it's usually just uncovered ground.

We bought a ground cover from Campers World. One time when we were there they had some nice ones on sale so we bought one. We really like it but yes the bottom gets muddy when placed in the dirt but the top stays nice. All you have to do when you get home is hose it off and let it dry. The material is porous and it dries fast, lets air and water through. You might check them out and watch for sales. Usually around 4th of July they have them on sale.

We were using outdoor carpet, but lately at the State Parks around here the campground hosts have started raking the ashes from the fire pits into the sandy soil in the campsites. I got tired of having to bring home the carpet and wash it on the driveway, that stuff just wouldn't sweep off. So we quit using it and just have small door mats at each door of the TD to take off our shoes. Less work is better in this case.

I use some "Gray Rubber Diamond-Top interlocking squares"
from COSTCO (about)$10.00 bucks for a package.

They give you about (6) 24"x24" x 1" thick squares. They are easily stored
and let your feet have piece of mind when stepping out of your Trailer.
You can make a big square or a long runner with the six tiles and they stay
together. Use one or all six .... you have options.

We use a couple of these: Mats Just put them down and back tear onto them and then setup the easyups (we use 2 together).

I've got an indoor/outdoor carpet from the home improvement store for by the door and an RV Awning Mat for the kitchen.

I LOVE the mat and as soon as they get more in my size and color I'm getting another one. They are lightweight, hose down and dry really easy and roll up in their case really nice. They are a bit pricey, but well worth it.
