Need to vent just a bit…

Postby MSG Hall » Sat Jan 26, 2008 10:07 am

I belong to a few different forums as I have a few different interests. Well I have belonged to on motorcycle forum for nearly 9 years now. And just lately (within the past year) there has been a guy that is just causing trouble for the sake of causing trouble.

The moderators can’t or won’t do anything about him. He has used several accounts; he is currently on his forth I think. He has gone from obnoxious to insulting. He has targeted the military and has named me a murder, that was months ago and I left the board for a long time…. A shame too, because I do have some good friends there.

Anyway I started back, posting again… and he is there, now his user names are GOD and Jesus and thinks it’s funny to insult and belittle the Christians on the site, and has targeted me again.

I will leave that forum once more; I am one of the oldest members there. I joined then they were in the hundreds, it now has over 16,000 members and I have over 7000 posts….

It saddens me and I just can’t understand what compels people like that…

Sarge -

What about just ignoring him and making no comments when he starts all that carping? People who do these things just look for attention, and if they don't get it, they'll quit. Who knows - they may even take a minute to reflect on how stupid they look! There are one of two on this forum who don't necessarily attack beliefs or ethics, but do jump in anyone's case at the slightest provocation . . .

Thank you for all you do for me and this country!!!

I can’t ignore him, the very fact that he is there angers me and sucks the enjoyment right out of the forum. I am a Christian (I try to be) and I just can’t take him making fun of everything I believe in… he goes out of his way to be insulting… I just have to leave there… well I still got you guys right? even though I’m the newbie here.

You got us. You're right. While you don't have to accept the ranter's ramblings, you can forgive him.

You are probably wise to remove yourself from the source of your anger. It's always good to know when to walk away . . .

Set Ignore

Postby HossHoffer » Sat Jan 26, 2008 10:45 am

Most forums have an ignore function that allows you to ignore all posts by any other particular member. It really ticks them off when you have no idea what they are talking about. I had to leave a forum for awhile. Almost all of the forums I have belonged to have gone through bad times. I just have to wait them out. I also was part of a forum where suddenly it became ok to slander Christians. I had to stay off that one for awhile and ignore a couple of people. Forums go through cycles and I just have to be patient. This one stays on topic pretty well.

On another note, my son arrived in Iraq a couple of days ago at Al Asad Airbase with his Marine unit. He is a sparky with the A-6 Intruder unit and is easily recognized because he is the one who forgets to call his dad!

You just have to ignore him and never take the bait. Then hope the admins will take care of the problem.

That kind of problem just shows how good the admins on this board do their job. Flare ups and trouble makers don't seem to last very long here.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Bruce,

If you can get together with the friends you have on the board, file a collective complaint with the administrator. If that doesn't get any results
file a complaint with the "abuse" contact of his internet service provider.

For what it's worth, that guy wouldn't last 5 minutes on this forum :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Oh, one other thing, Bruce.
If you try to leave this forum, we'll hunt you down and drag you back here kickin & screamin if necessary.

We feel priviledged to have you on our forum. Like the others said, I can't beleive the admins would let him continue on like that, ours sure would not take anything like that. We do have an exceptional group!

Unfortunately you are doing exactly what he wants. He is just trying to get a rise out of you. Just ignore him and you'll be the better person.

Hey Bruce

If you want to talk motorcycles it looks like there are a few people on this forum that have bikes. Start a tread on here about bikes and you will probably get some responce. I for one have 4 old Harleys and my son has one. :) :)

Bruce, sorry you're thinking of leaving that other forum because of some pathetic heckler who is hiding behind a screen name and trying to be a tough guy.

History proves that hecklers usually target people that are intelligent, powerful, and who stand for something. You obviously take a strong position in several areas of your life and your conviction is what drives his misguided insecurity.

He is merely words on a screen, my friend. YOU are out there, gettin' er done. To coin Bill O'Reilly...YOU are the patriot, HE is the pinhead.
