Relaxing Around the T&TT Family Campfire

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby Fenlason » Sun Jan 27, 2008 8:17 am

At this time I don't recall what my BP med was. It is the diuretic. type meds.. that can trigger gout.

I was taking a low dose of daily aspirin, and that itself can trigger gout. Not knowing this.. When the pain was real bad.. I did try aspirin for the pain and inflamation..and it did not help at all. I also found that tylenol did nothing to reduce the pain. I did find that advil did help. In my reading I learned that was true of gout... that aspirin and tyleno don't help but advid will.

Mine does not seem to manifest completey like the typical gout patient.. that is why we were looking at other ailments.

I do get pain... swelling, and heat. There is significant inflamation going on.

I am not sure about "it" staying that long in the same places.. that does not sound like what I have read about... nor what I experienced. I had some places stay swollen for a month or a little more. [Mine keeps moving]
There is a lot of differing "things" you could have. Some are easy to diagnos.. some not.

I also do not like doctors.. I am truely a medical oddity all to often... and all to often when I go to a doctor, I get "sicker".

I do go to a Doctor now.. that does alternative work.. among them Homeopathy. I like her.. she has the medical background.. so knows when I should seek allopathic medicine, but has done much for me.

She gave me some homeopathic meds wed. that within a day.. 90 % of my pain was gone. Because I have not completely addressed all that is causing the gout.. I have other places starting up right now. I have a few joints in my hands.. and fingers. That are starting to bother me.

I have yet to learn.. how I can stop it from reacurring.

good luck.

Hello Kerry.. Yes it helps just having a better idea, what is going on. I am optimistic I can get this under control.

So how are you with your back? How is the traction working?

Good (late) morning guys,
I thought I'd sneak in a few extra hours at work today, so the first thing I have to do is practice my internet skills. :D

Man, I sure hope you guys (Kerry,Glenn) get to feeling better. :worship:
That must suck.

Capn, how's your "home crew" doing? I hope you guys are all better too. :worship:

I'll be glad when we're all warm and fuzzy again and we can feel the:

Sunshine on my shoulders that makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high 8)

Have a good day. :)

I have not been getting traction lately (only had it a couple times). I am currently waiting for a 'home traction machine' that my doctor ordered for me, then I can get with the traction program!!

So, you like JD??

He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Comin home to a place hed never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door

Count me in, too!!

For the children and the flowers are my sisters and my brothers
Their laughter and their loveliness could clear a cloudy day
And the song that I am singing is a prayer for non-believers
Come and stand beside us, we can find a better way.

Yeah, being from Colorado myself , he kind of connects to my inner "tree hugger". And there's not a day go by here that I don't look at the flat horizon and miss the mountains. I miss my Rocky Mountian high. I'm really into nature and saving the enviroment, and there in lies the problem. The big oil companies pay my way, I guess working for Halliburton, I can kind of take the money they make and pay me with, and use it for the good of Mother Earth.(I'm kind of broke now so that don't really happen that way) Maybe with my soul being torn this way, someday I'll be a great poet.

And do some thinkin,
I say to myself,
Damn, this is stinkin.

Yeah it is a little bit of a pain :D It is tuff not knowing day to day.. What I can and can't do. Some days I can go out and snowshoe for a few hours and no problems.. other days I can barely walk. The Arms or hands come and go....but I do realize that there are those that are much worse off than I... I make do.. and as I said I am now a little more optimistic.. of a more favorable future.
