Hello from the home of the KICK ASS Pittsburgh Steelers.....

Postby blood_sweat_guts_101 » Sun Jan 27, 2008 3:31 am

Hello all!!

Well after 2 years I am finaly able to build a tear. Can't wait to get started!!

I love this web page and will use it alot because I do have lots of questions. I am actualy going to build a kind of a pop up and slide out trailer. I plan to make it very light and able to sleep 2 adults and 2 children. Another words stuff 5lbs of s... in a 1 lb sack.

My plan is to make it 5' x 5' x 3' high with a lifting roof. I will use canvas for my walls when the roof is up to keep the weight down. it will have a slide out bed for me and my wife and the kids can sleep on the main floor which will also have a 1' slide out( which will be 6' when laying down ) so they can stretch out. I will try to keep total cost under $500 :worship: but I think it will be more but close. well wish me luck I'll need it. Also any insight and advice will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Scott from Pittsburgh, PA 8)

P.S. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!

Well they went the way I expected them to!

Welcome aboard.
One question, wouldn't it be much simpler and cheaper to build just to start with it 6 feet long rather than go to the extra work of making a slide? Seems to me when you do that you are complicating an otherwise simple build.

Well I would do that but I only have a small 4'x4' trailer. The silde out will actually be all canvas except for the bed of course.Kinda like a pop-up camper. Or do you think I could ballance a 6'x5' trailer on a 4'x4' trailer frame. Is it possible????

...yes it is...there are two that come to mind right off the bat...Roly Nelson's, !/4 Nelson Stacker and Del's, Jelly Belly...both built on 4x4 Harbor Freight frames with tongue extensions...like I said...keep on readin' and researchin' before commiting to a build...who knows what you will come up with...like we say around here..."paitience grasshoppah, you are now on teardrop time" :D ;)

5lbs.of S--- in a 1lb. bag is what I call a" Blivit". That might even be a Sniglet. Good luck on your Build.
