I voted today, but I don't know why

Postby Ira » Tue Jan 29, 2008 10:11 am

There was only one other person at my polling station today, and I'm a registered Democrat in Florida--which means we don't get the delegates anyway (supposedly).

Plus, I voted for the third place guy--Edwards.

When you're unemployed, you look for ANYTHING to keep you busy, you know?

To make matters worse, there were only TWO items on the ballot--presidential, and this property tax exemption scheme that you would have to be Alan Greenspan to understand.

I thought I would at least be able to throw out some judges:

"Should Justice Samuel Jones be retained?"

NO!!!

"Should Circuit Court Judge Howard Schwartz be retained?"

NO!!!

"Should the Honorable Jose Sanchez be retained?"

NO!!!

Makes no difference to me at all--Christian, Jew, latin, black:

I ALWAYS THROW OUT THE JUDGES!

Better safe than sorry.
Here we go again!

You could always teach them about Duck Pins, that should keep you entertained for a while!! Maybe even set up your own alleys.

Ira, I'm with you on the judges. I ALWAYS vote no on them too. Makes perfect sense to me. Why do they ask my opinion in the firs place? They never get thown out anyway.

I like the part where Ira votes for John Edwards and the following day Edwards throws up his hands and quits the election.

What a choice this year. Hillabilly or mu Cain. My brother in law asked if he could write in none. I suggested he write in Rich.

I hate it that we, the rest of the country never get to vote for the other candidates. Maybe there should be a law that requires if you get in you stay in till the end. AND freee---equal radio/tv time for all. Lets at least not have so many BOUGHT elections. Image

Miriam,
Something awful happened Wednesday when John Edwards suspended his campaign.

But the fact of the matter is that Edwards alone of the candidates in either party gave more than lip service to the idea that the President should care about what's happening to the people in this country who don't have $100,000-plus incomes annually and must earn their living by their work rather than their stock options.

He is still on our primary ballot so I will vote for him (it's not until March).

He is the one person for whom I would happily vote for a 3rd party -- I would have voted for Ross Perot, except he picked Adm. Stockdale to be his backup, and Ross Perot wouldn't keep his mouth shut to save his life, and that guy had already been through enough hell -- he didn't need to have to go through what LBJ went through after Kennedy got shot, too.
Mopar's what my busted knuckles bleed, working on my 318s...

Well I won't be here for super Tuesday. Doesn't seem to matter anyway. I am really probably going to write in Rich.

I was going to vote for myself. But I think I'll also go with Rich. That is if he promises to where that shirt in office , and of course build the presidential TD. :D
