Hello from Roswell, GA

Postby BubbaRHC » Tue Jan 29, 2008 10:17 am

Hello everyone, just a brief note to introduce myself. My name is P.J. Just joined the forum to absorb all this great information as I downsize from a Trailmanor to a Teardrop. Some huge adjustments will have to be made from what I am used to, but really look forward to the simplicity of this new venture.

Not sure yet on what I want, and value your input. Was looking at the Little Guy just from a price point, but really like the Amish trailers from up north. Just don't like the bucks that it takes to get one. Build is not an option for me from a time standpoint. Maybe someday upon retirement.

Anyway, just a brief hello.

Welcome PJ,

The best way to get a lot of info is to go to a Gathering and see first hand all the different TD's and meet people who will love to talk about their trailers. Good luck.

Hi Bubba and welcome to the forum! :) I'm sure you'll find lots of valuable information here. My husband and I lurked around for several months before joining the forum, just reading and gaining lots of insight from other teardrop owners...buyers and builders. We too bought our teardrop because we didn't have the time or the desire to take on another project, just wanted to get out and get camping. :campfire:

I understand your love for the Amish built trailers. We just purchased our Lil Traveler (5' x 8') this month from Pleasant Valley Tailers in Sugarcreek, Ohio and we are absolutely in love with it. The woodworking is beautiful and the quality is second to none. The sales rep Keith and the owner Joe both spent lots of time with us on the phone on several occasions, answering every question we had. They are both very friendly and obliging and went out of the way to make sure we are satisfied with our purchase. Keith even met us and gave us a tour of the plant on a weekend when it was most convenient for us. I would most heartily recommend this dealer and this product. Here's their web site: http://www.pleasantvalleytrailers.com/

Check out our album for more pictures and feel free to ask us any questions you may have. Good luck with your decision.

Hi Bubba, I'm just down the road from you in Midtown.

There's a LG dealer in Greenville, SC -- I sneaked onto his lot out of curiosity this weekend -- and one down on 575 south of here. Now that LG has acquired the Shadow series it's likely these folk are going to be able to get their hands on those as well.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I have my eye on a like new Silver Lil Traveler 4x8 and hope to work out that deal.

Tear Fan - joined the Georgia Chapter, but either I am doing something wrong or it is not active as there are only 8 total posts from Oct and Nov of 2007. What am I doing wrong? Can't seem to find options for other topics or posts. I am new to this forum stuff.

Thanks again for your welcome, I will keep you updated if I get the TD this weekend.

You have done nothing wrong on the Yahoo! forum. There is simply not much action there. It mainly takes place here and at tearjerkers.net. Keep us apprised of your upcoming acquisition.

Hi PJ,

Welcome to the forum...

Don't got any money and don't got any time? That doesn't leave you much to work with.

But look around a while, and your priorities will get adjusted. ;) :D

Mike...

The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

Hey Mike - never said I didn't have the money.... just said I didn't want to part with that much of it. Actually just purchased a 2007 4x8 yoder toter from one of the members on this site. Drove to Missouri to pick it up yesterday, camped overnight in it in Bolling Green, KY. Can't wait to do more.

Now I have to figure out how I will configure the back to make best use of the limited space. This site should prove invaluable for this process.

Thanks for the welcome.
