Hey...I moved from there to be closer to my family...went to college and then lived there 27 years...I'd move back in a heartbeat. A real progressive city, lots of activities, 3 major sports with new venues, mountains, cultural events, redone central city area, and great outdoor activities ...sun shines 300 days a year...why would you listen to someone like Ira...He lives with the "blue hairs" and complains about the illegals all the time. I'm working on moving back, family isn't all it's cracked up to be...Doug

Dan- Funny thing, the company is giving me a choice Folsom CA or Golden CO. got it if I do take the job we will go to MT Evans. Thanks

Mike- it is not too late I have not given them an answer yet.
CO to Texas is only 15 hours if you are from Texas that is not really a bad trip we are used to long trips.

When I was 6 we moved from the country to a city five hours away. I just remember thinking how cool it was to have so many kids my age that lived so close.

Claw- keeping the property should not be a big deal the M & D-in-laws live 200' away and the Sis-in-law lives 300' away I am sure they will keep an eye on things.

I am sure there will be lots of travel back and forth I actually think it would be cool to have family and friends come visit. and when we go home we will just stay in our house here.

Always look forward- that is some great advice. thanks

Doug- Yes there is lots to do in the Denver area. and Ira is fine as long as he gets his daily Bud rations. "family isn't all it's cracked up to be..." you just might be right, lots of drama at times.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

The wife has been having very cold feet so we are planning to go up there this week end so she can see things for herself.

Edit: their for there

Being in the military, I have moved many many times...and even when I like the place I'm living, when the chance to be transferred comes up, I'm always ready for a change. I love seeing new places and people. For those that don't move very often, a move can be scary. So...good luck and maybe we'll see you teardropping around here soon!

Steve, I'd buy some good ski equipment and a 4X4 and head for Colorado.

What company made the offer?

I think you'll like it. Great camping there too. :applause:

Go for it.

WorleyParsons and Stanley Engineering both made offers.

Ah WorleyParsons...One of my company's customers. They must have offices all over the place.

Good Luck on your decision.

I am late as usual. Tell your wife to enjoy!

Now when you get there---join some type of social group. Church comes to mind first but any social group for your children and wife will help. Even a quilting/sewing guild type group.

I am sure the TDers in the area will help you all feel at home.

Hello everyone. The saga continues... The wife can not come to terms with moving that far away. She says Austin or even Ft Worth but not Denver. So I told Worleyparsons no but they said they did not want to take that answer right now so they will give me another week to think about it. Later I told Stanley No because my wife cannot leave Texas, they said "we will let you work out of our Austin office if you want even though they do not do the same work as the Denver office." only catch is I have to train for 4 weeks in the Denver office. So looks like we are not moving to Denver, But maybe Austin.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
