Oh, Yah!!!

I spent a couple of weeks wondering why our power would flicker occasionally. I thought there was a loose overhead line. One day after it stopped I pulled the cover off the box for something and I thought I had an old clothe covered wire going bad. (I didn't have a lot of light there) After a little probing it finally occurred to me what had been going on. It had to take him a good couple of weeks to fully cook. 8)

Old house, you get used to that kind of thing. I need to change out the whole box one day.
If you look close you can maybe make out that the top breakers are on their own bus and the lower right double is actually feeding the lower bus that all the singles are on.
That's why my lights and stuff were flickering, damn thing was shorting my 110 feeds.

Know the drill. Bought the shack in 90 and the 1st thing I did was upgrade to 200 amp service. I split it 100 in garage and 100 in the house.
Each and every delivery wire was replaced. Found old cloth covered knob and tube wire , some aluminum wire. You name it .. Kinda scarry.
I have about 2 foot of the original wire still in the house everything else is new. " Peace of mind Priceless "

Talk about a nightmare. YIKES!!! :o
One time I sent my brother to get a rope to tie down a tarp in my truck from out of my porch. After a couple of mins later he comes running back telling me that he grabbed a rattler. I didn't believe him because he tends to over exagerate. I told him that he propably saw a hose and I went to go look for the rope, after about ten mins I saw it too. Well we ended up getting shovels and wacking the heck out of it. I don't care if their are snakes outdoors but not in my house!

Most of what is in here has been replaced except in the 2 upstairs bedrooms. That will come later when I gut them. Gotta get rid of the plaster and lathe and get some insulation in.
My feed line outside is still cloth covered tho. I'll get to that someday too.

I get them in the house every now and then. When the house is nearly 70 years old it's hard to find all the holes that have been poked in it over the years. I just tote em outside and send them on their way. Stepson sat down at his PC one night to find one curled up on his keyboard. Now that was hysterical!!!
