I try to stay on top of what's going on around the world, and I had never heard of this phenomenon before. It's amazing to me how something like this can develop and grow into something so big.

Anyone else find this interesting?

I want to go out in a boat and see it.

I am currious to know how much of the garbage was washed out to sea by storms or tsunamis, rather than dumped into the ocean.

Seems like a fair amout could be from flooding.

I had first read about this several years ago...it seems a lot of commercial sport fishing captains like because the fish like to hang out in the shade...I've also read where a lot of beaches out thataway have as major quantities of polymers in their sand because of this phenom...
