unfinished homebuilt project

Postby Joker » Sat Feb 09, 2008 9:43 pm

Hi all. I am new to your forum but look forward to being here. I started a '47 "trailer for two" project. I have not been able to come up with the time or money to finish it. I hate to give it up, but something has to give. My father and I built this baby from scratch from the ground up. It lacks maybe 20 or so hours of labor, some material, and hardware to be finished. I made the sleeping area 6'6" to accomodate my hieght. I have the build photos at the link below. I would like to get $2500 for it.

I added more up to date photos to the flicker page. I would put some here but I haven't figured out how to get them in the message.

Nice tear! I really like the wood flooring. It should sell easily.

Thanks, I am a flooring contractor so I had it laying around. I couldn't think of a better floor than that.

All right, now we're cookin with gas.

I am really proud of how this project was coming along. I hope y'all can see that I wasn't just slappin it together.

I even adapted stock Jeep wheels, mainly because I was going to be pulling it with my Jeep.

I designed the butcher block counter top to slide out about 9 or 10 inches so you don't whack your shins on the frame.

My original plan was to put a "fleet marking" vinyl wrap on this tear. I was going have my friend at an advertising company do a Mossy Oak Camo and wrap it all the way around. From there I was going to trim it out with flat black mouldings. The cubby in the front of the cabin was cut presicely to fit my 7mm Mag. deer rifle and all my ammo. I was going to use push magnet latches and hide the hinges inside, then trim the outside with a little oak moulding and one of those fancy wood scrolly things so you coudn't tell there was on opening there.
I'm getting all misty eyed.

Although I said that I would like to get $2500 for this trailer, I am open to offers.

getting desperate

Ok, I need to sell this trailer. I am dropping the price to $1500 or I will trade for a running Toyota 4Runner. I need a vehicle more than the trailer at this point.

Do you still have this trailer? Did you keep it at the original 4ft wide or stretch it to 5? I cant really tell by the pictures.

I do still have it packed away in the mess I call the garage. I did keep it at the original 4' dimension, purely for nostalgia reasons.
