Bla, ha, ha, ha, ha….. now if that ain’t like a blind man describing what color is…

Dude, I think your opinion might just be a tad colored by some traumatic event in your past. The facts just do not support your theory… But I am happy for you that there are no guns in the state you live in though… the state of denial

Now don’t take offence and get all indignant and turn this thread into a fight, that’ll just get it locked up. I would be more than happy to discuss this further with you… PM me and you can explain your position in more detail. If your argument is based on facts, statistics and logic and not how you “feel” you just might change my mind.

Actually, it happens all the time. A couple of recent examples from opposite sides of the country:
Orlando Sentinel, Orlando, FL, 11/07/07
Juan Amezage and Stephen Soto were enjoying the fall weather outside Soto's apartment. The mood was shattered when two strangers walked by two or three times as If casing the neighborhood. Then the strangers approached. 'What time is it?' one asked. Soto looked down at his watch. but as he raised his head the stranger said, 'Hey, run them,' and drew a gun. But Amezaga and Soto are concealed-carry permit holders. Soto pulled a 9 mm pistol just as the stranger shot. The bullet grazed Soto's shin, breaking the skin. Police say Soto fired two or three times, and the robbers fled. One robber stopped and again began shooting. Soto and Amezaga both returned fire and the robber fled. "It could have been real bad last night If it wasn't for the quick thinking and our concealed-weapons permits" Soto said. "We might not even be here"

Yakima Herold-Republic, Yakima, WA, 11/21/07
Jason Moore returned home to find a strange car outside. A concealed-carry license holder, he grabbed a .45-caliber handgun from his truck and inspected the home, finding the back door kicked in. Once inside, he spied a man in the bedrodm. He approached cautiously and spotted another suspect. The second man was holding Moore's own shotgun. "I fired one round and he went down," Moore said. "I Immediately dialed 9-1-1 and told them not to move ... I told them that a lot." The injured suspect complied, but the other claimed to be a gang member who would have Moore killed. When police arrived, they informed Moore that the injured suspect was wanted by U.S. Marshals on drug charges and his accomplice was a suspect in a homicide. "It's just scary to know that there were two people that bad in my house and in my bedroom," said Moore.

Also when you are breaking the law by carrying a concealed weapon, don't cry about what laws others choose to ignore. You can't have it both ways.

Nonsense - when I carry, I do so legally. I have a concealed carry permit for Virginia, which is also valid in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Vermont.

thanks

Go and get your self a musket, I think that was the gun available at the time the second amendment was written. No one will care.

That is why it is written as "the right of the People to keep and bear arms." and not "the right of the People to keep and bear muskets."
This insures the right of people to bear arms no matter what the period of time is or what the modern weapon is.

Stupid?

BrwBier wrote:It's not legal in most places, it's stupid, more people are killed by their own weapon than are protected. People who need to carry a weapon camping need to grow up and get a life. If you are going hunting, that is a totally different story. I do not have a problem with that. Bring an appropriate weapon and be responsible and have a good time.

Larry the cable guy said it best - "Blaming my gun on killing people is like blaming my pencil on mis-spelled words". Guns dont kill people - people kill people. :dead:

There is no evidence for this whatsoever. None.
