How to get a Flamineta for $5 at Minden

Each year in our little town in Mexico Santa makes some kind of trailer (this year, hoopefully a sleigh) and distributes candy and a little toy to all of the children. Some of the kids, this is all they get.

Last year we did 1200 bags and that was not enough, this year we are hoping to do 1500 bags. As you can guess, cash is always an issue. I have bought a Flamineta stove to raffle off at Minden. It should raise some money and the lucky winner will get a stove cheap. It should be a win win situation.

Save $5 to buy a ticket on the stove. Each person that purchases a ticket and supplies me with an e-mail address will get a photo of santa after Christmas. I think this way we all can kind of get somewhat invalved.

No donations required. send $5 for each ticket to paypal and I will put a ticket in the basket for each $5.

That way it is not a real donation and if you were to win, you could make a friend happy by giving them the stove.

Sorry folks, George T checked with the folks at Pionear Village and they basicaly aid no. If you are not an organized, chartered charity, you can not do it.

Thanks for the support. Santa realy appreciates it. I am bringing the stove just in case something changes.

Sometimes small time politics are the worse of all...
If I was raising money to help someone in need, especially children... and was told I couldn't do it... I think I would dust off my shoes, turn around and say good-bye...

If you have to be a non-profit to do this.... why not ask a local church to do it for you??? I'm sure a local church would love just such a mission oppurtunity!!!!

Please, I only used the "church" word because of my personal preference and experience .. suggest and approach any non-profit you feel worthy..

Just got around to reading this. We have been to TN for a funeral and not able to check the forum.

the bags are all done for this year. I am now working on a sleigh for santa to ride around in and pass out the little bags. The only mistake I have found so far is the bends I need to put in the plywood. What a pain to get the scrolly things on the sleigh. I am mounting it on a 3X4 little bolt together trailer that I have had for years. I used to use the trailer to pull the camping gear, now I do not need it anymore since I have the teardrop.

It sure is a lot nicer camping in the TD.
